I agree engineering is a big part. I also personally believe that engineers who can mix live successfully are generally better at studio mixing than engineers who don’t do live or avoid it.

The best concerts for me, or the best way to experience live music, are ones with zero expectation: just popping into a venue on a random night. Of course there are stinkers, but not knowing what you’re getting and being pleasantly surprised is a lot more satisfying than going to some overproduced circus act. This works for all genres (it does help to know which venues are ‘reliable’ at staging competent acts).
Even if the show is a stinker from a technical standpoint it can still be fun. Years and years ago I went to Ozzfest and it just so happened there was a massive storm on the weekend of the show. The show still went on, but while I was in the middle of watching Rob Zombie jam out on one stage the power dropped because of the weather. Nonplussed Rob Zombie started yelling to his roadies and one of them brought him a megaphone. He apologized to the audience and then spent the next hour until the power came on sitting on the edge of the stage and telling stories about his life on the road, talking about crazy things he had seen or done, and asking questions of the audience. It was genuinely the most fun I have ever had at a concert and the musician I was watching wasn't even able to play. Charisma, showmanship, and the ability to engage with the audience are the real marks of a star. I heard later that a bunch of bands at that show threw temper tantrums on the other stages and went back to their buses leaving their audiences angry bitter. Meanwhile I was standing out there in the mud and rain sipping on my flask and listening to some of the funniest shit I have ever heard while Rob Zombie's makeup dripped off his face and his dreadlocks became completely soaked. It was a whole ass vibe.

Rob is just a nerdy dude who is living out his dreams, and he is a really cool, grounded guy.

They think they can outlast MAGA and forget about Trump. If they do get Vance, who seems to be more right wing than Trump even is, then they're fucked. MAGA will continue to be a political force, and the RINOcaust will continue as these old faggots keep getting ousted.
They think they can slow walk Trump to 2028 and be done with him, but unless he dies, he isn't going to just sit at home quietly. That's not Trump, even before he was president. He will be vocal about a nominee and I could see him doing rallies here and there for whoever he picks and the guy he does choose effectively get a golden ticket to be the 2028 GOP candidate. People voted for MAGA and Trump, and that's why his voice and decisions even after leaving office will carry importance.

He has said from day one that Vance is his choice to succeed him and keep the work going, so you can bet he will be out there rallying like mad for Vance’s ticket.

If I recall correctly, he told Greg Guttfeld “JD is not just my Vice President pick, he is the man who I am training to take the job when I’m done.”

I don't know why jews can't just get behind Vance. It's not like he's calling for TKD, or even anti-Israel at all. Bros been to the wall after all.

He's just slightly Israel-skeptical because the country's reputation has gone down the shitter post October 7th and more people are paying attention to Israel's influence in our own politics. Vance is the best they're going to get because it's either that or a democrat that wants Israel completely destroyed. They're shooting themselves in the foot by attacking him because there's no way he's not going to be our next president barring some terrible tragedy. Jews are like leftist goyim in the way where they want everything exactly as they want it, and if anything is 1% off they'll shoot their own side in the foot to spite them.
Vance is dangerous in a way Trump isn't. Vance is very smart, and very focused. He has a way of disarming his critics that you have to see to believe.

Take the waltz debate, Old timmy thought he was going to have some brash, insulting trump type. That's not vance at all, Vance was polite, even pushing back on the two whores hosting the debate in a sort of polite offputting way. Tim had no idea how to respond, he tried to debate the issues, but he is a shitty leftist retard, and he lost on every point.

I don't trust Vance completely, but I cannot help but like him. And you have to respect his intellect, he's smart in a way we haven't seen in my lifetime in politics. And honestly, he's Scotts Irish, I'm biased as all fuck when it comes to my people.

The attempted gotcha with the story Walz told about his son witnessing the shooting, and JD’s reaction to it was a star-making moment. Walz clearly expected some kind of pushback, but got “Sweet Christ, nobody should ever have to see that.” It showed a level of humanity few politicians are in touch with, and the look on Walz’ face was like he shit himself in the realization he’d just blown the whole game.

Same with the interview where the woman was giving him shit about the number of apartment buildings in Colorado that Tren De Aragua had taken over. The power of him calmly saying “Do you even listen to yourself? Even one is too many, so who cares if it is six or a dozen?” hit home for a lot of people.

he's got turbojews and people who hate brown wives equally mad
talk about bipartisan support!

A couple of months back he was doing a dinner in the Rose Garden and for once the media was there watching. While Trump was giving his toastmaster he causually thew out some comment about how there was a lot of talk about whether Vance or Rubio would be his annointed successor. When Vance's name was mentioned there was a huge roar from the crowd, when Rubio's name was mentioned there was a noticably quieter roar. I remember Trump looked sort of taken aback after the first roar, like he hadn't expect anyone to react to what he thought was causual banter, and after the second he made some comment about how they would be a better together o algo

At least that was my recollection of the event. Let me find it on youtube and post it here.
Yeah here we go
So we got a lot of a lot of beauties out there, JD. I en- -- I envy you and other people. I don't know. Who's, who's it going to be?
Is it going to be JD? Is it going to be somebody else? I don't know. Who does, does anybody have, okay, let's go.
You ready? Who likes JD Vance? [Monster Pop] Who likes Marco Rubio? [tepid applause]
...A-all right. Sounds like a good ticket. JD is a perfect, that was a perfect ticket. By the way, I do believe that's a dream team, but these are minor details. That does not mean you have my endorsement under any circumstance.
But you know, it's a perfect, it was a big and then a very nice, I think it sounds like presidential candidate

You mean by sending his minions to attack criticism with legitimate points and then sending the minion to podcasts with hosts that attack Trump?

After that, he went on Joe Rogan and claimed he doesn't mind foreign influence, but then immediately had a meltdown about how these criticisms were obviously an Israeli operation against him without actually addressing the very real points that were made.

It's extremely easy to attack Tim Waltz and Democrats because they are retarded. When he doesn't have an easy lineup, he runs away and sends other people to do the work then when they fail refuse to address anything that was brought up

It’s crazy to think Trump actually went against all his advisors in picking Vance as his running mate.

Another thing I see a lot of is that people see Vance as being the voice of reason in the White House right now, and that image of being the calm, reasonable man keeping Trump on the rails, as false as it may be, brings a lot of value in terms of undecided moderates perceiving him as a steady hand and a known quantity when the time comes.

Hopefully quantization can reduce it to a serviceable size for local runs on non-data center-tier hardware without totally lobotomizing it.
The quant version of kimi 3 (its native format is 4bit mxfp4) still needs a tiny cluster of hella expensive GPUs (iirc it's around 1.5TB, so like 64 GPUs), so no chance. Bar some new breakthrough you're not going to run current frontier level models outside of datacenters unless you're crazy, rich and enjoy wasting money.

I encourage everyone to watch this debate on Vance. This is why the RINOs are being very agressive and want to crush Vance and even Rubio to an extent. The people Trump have picked are sharp as a tack. In many ways they are better than him and can learn from his failings. The RINO's are terrified of someone with charisma and YOUTH actually leading the country.

I imagine it won't be too long before we can run the full model on something that'll fit on a keychain.
