I can't see Jet committing to staying out of the spotlight, it seems like he says this before every season where he wants the fish to be the stars or whatever then the season starts and he just can't help himself to stay out of the fun for too long.
If he didn't use Fishtank as his personal casting couch, and embraced his humble nerd side over his arrogant wigger side, it would be fine... but alas.

I feel ever since blood games he’s made the mistake of not acting like a producer and started hanging out with the fish a lot. The only exception since then was early on in season 3. Of course the lack of a good host only makes it worse. He’s funny sometimes and definitely filled in for Bam last season but the fish shouldn’t get too comfortable around production.
Making fun of Jet is a Fishtank staple at this point. He's as much of a Fish as any of the contestants. Replacing him with some do-nothing tard that's not actually in charge would be boring.
I want to laugh at jet's goofy ahh shoes as he power trips over making an autistic guy pick up trash.
Good to see Drake, the Twins, Landon, and Bashir back in the same place with Alex and Burt playing backup. Solid stream, feels like the director cam late in S5.

I don’t want Jet replaced, the show doesn’t exist without him. I just think it’s better for him to stay behind the scenes more often. I also like making fun of his shoes.

I don’t see them continuing. I think they’ll try a S6 and it won’t go well. I don’t like doomposting but S5 was supposed to be the comeback and did in some sense succeed at that, but Ellie’s death is going to weigh heavily on all of them and I just don’t see them having fun doing the show anymore. The show has always been at its worst when the crew isn’t having fun. If it’s like that all the time from now on, it’s over.
i think what jet/ft needs is some writers, the season that got the biggest praise BG is as far as i know the only one they engaged outside talent for writing plotlines and whatnot(sodaman/xaiver). they need someone not sleep deprived/drugged to help with ideas, i feel like they get to invested and take things to personally sometimes and are unable to step back and see the bigger plot lines developing, and then shut them down for some stupid bit that falls flat.
i also think having some kind of production shifts that lets them get some rest would be good.
Massive Drake W (besides the swatting), got the gang back together for a couple of days and his viewcount went to at least 1800 at points.
Even with the supposed rushed schedule it had some nontent moments, so maybe its for the best that it didnt go for the full duration. It's nice watching this group not being forced to be at-arms with each other for once.
Production sucked big time, but usually the case with the knockoffs.
