After looking through the drama I can't help but feel like DD & J need to get the hell away from each other and get normal lives outside the Internet, and possibly therapy/medication. I genuinely think that their history together has caused this feedback loop where they can do nothing but obsess over the past as some kind of comping mechanism for the regret they have at missed opportunities out of their own narcisissm. They can do everything but actually self reflect on why they got in this situation. Everything they had from those times is gone except for the negative things, and thats the last thing they can hold on to instead of facing reality and moving on. I looked at my old posts in this thread from DD's Feb 2023 breakdown and he did the same thing then. Said he would do one last definitive stream which would clear everything up + stay up. Neither happened. I could blogpost forever about the stream but it's the same as before - vaguing about ex-coworkers and wallowing about how life sucks. Like people have already said, the only good solution is to log off, like hahaha how the fuck is cyberbullying real, etc.
In terms of addressing shit, I honestly think Julian's tumblr vent comic was a better way for it. Ignoring the tortured artist angle, it's clear he didn't want to keep being a meme/mascot and hoped people would understand that. I think the majority of people did and went on their merry way. The remainder should have been easy to deal with (outside of extreme examples like the stalker faggot from pre-Oney days.) People bitch about hugboxes/echo chambers but that's clearly what DD&J need and to their credit, they've made some progress like using their own site instead of Twitch/YT.
