Haven't kept up with it, but one thing I was doing for a bit is asking AI (Grok) about whatever horrible shit happened in India on this day/week in history.
Here's one for this week:
The Indian Independence Act, passed by the British Parliament on July 18, 1947, carved British India into the independent dominions of India and Pakistan, effective August 15. What followed was one of the largest and bloodiest forced migrations in history: roughly 15 million people crossed the hastily drawn Radcliffe Line amid panic and chaos, as Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims fled to the "right" side of the new borders. Communal massacres erupted across Punjab and Bengal, with armed mobs slaughtering entire villages, widespread rape, arson, and train massacres; estimates of the death toll range from several hundred thousand to up to 2 million. Millions more suffered abduction, homelessness, and trauma in what remains one of modern history's darkest episodes of sectarian violence triggered by rapid colonial partition.
Think every day/week I've looked up had some type of horrible event, like famine, invasion, etc. where a few hundred thousand or millions of jeets got jeeted.
