Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

I’m still somewhat surprised they approved it. Is it intended for the international audience?

Yes, but if ratings are actually tanking hard, they may prematurely pull it.

What happens when an anime is pulled from the air? Do they burn off the remaining episodes on a dead timeslot, release the unaired episodes on DVD/BD-only, or will the unaired episodes be destroyed and will be unreleased media?

And what was the most notable example of an anime being pulled off the air early? There was things like Excel Saga's last episode not being aired due to it being too long, and School Days's final TV episode broadcast being replaced with the Nice Boat. because of a knife murder that occurred just before the episode was to air.

At least according to Google AI

When an anime is pulled off the air in Japan, the network stops broadcasting it immediately. Broadcasters replace the episodes with reruns or news segments. Studios scrap production and lose their funding. Retailers pull merchandise from store shelves. Streaming sites block access, and planned sequel projects are canceled.

the author commits ritual suicide. all the fans are sent to an island. if the name of the series is spoken aloud, nearby birds begin screaming with the voices of children

It's peak slop, and still one of the best zombie anime/manga ever made
I finally understood the titty sniper appeal from the memes. Despite being 15% plot & 85% "plot", it's still a very fun watch. Even the dubbed version is great, despite aging like fucking milk at times.
Would you believe me if I told you that the manga is handled well and is an actually serious story with stakes?
I won't be surprised considering there are certain heavy moments & character arcs even in the anime.
Isn't he supposed to be a shout-out to the guy who made Hellsing?
Makes sense, his name is Kota Hirano & he's the best character of the series.

100 girlfriends just got to Freedom Girl and it was epic. Her English is so bad but if she ever came to America she would immediately be extremely popular

The last show that I know of that was prematurely pulled was Interspecies Reviewers and that show is still available in full on streaming services despite being pulled three episodes in.

They'll probably finish the season though, right?
I can't really see it being dropped. Coomers would probably go extra hard for the disgusting factor, maybe general audience would be too grossed out ("what do you mean smokers are smelly and disgusting?") and moral guardians will absolutely make noise despite being the most anti substance abuse anime in existence.

Really only thing missing from it a cat/rat girl version of Bossmanjack.

You should be surprised. Because I lied to you

They ritualistically slaughter the gook slave animators and water mount fuji with their blood. Then they burn all the complete animations in a shrine. It's honestly better than the West with games when they complain that the modern audience didn't show up once again.

Finally gotten to the Cell Games with the fiance and I'm once again reminded that Dragon Ball Z wasn't the screaming, beamfest people remember it as.

The fight with Vegeta and Semi-Perfect Cell was kino.
Dragonball is simultaneously nowhere near as bad, and also not as good as people remember.
