They also make some pretty amazing wine. Sadly they don't actually drink it. The Malbecs that Argentina exports are fantastic and I find them, on average, better than French Malbecs. However the wine that Argentinians drink themselves is usually terrible swill that isn't fit for human consumption. I got on a Malbec kick after drinking bottle after bottle of the stuff they export and figured to myself that the table wine the average Argie drinks must be incredible is this was the level of the stuff they where selling out of country. So I ended up buying a bunch of bottles of the most widely consumed wines in Argentina and they were terrible.
