The Democrats are truly fucked as a party if they let it slide that their college arm has apparently already been fully subverted by the DSA. And they probably will, considering how they've already been turning a blind eye thus far to the espoused commies who've been eat them from the inside under the "big tent" for the past year.
The real issue with the Dems comes down to their use of postmodernism(i.e. "trust the experts" and "truth is what the ivory tower says and your eyes are lying to you") as a tool to control the masses. The Dem politicians don't actually believe that shit but they know its very useful for propaganda purposes since you can just make shit up when reality is against you instead of having to rely on traditional lies that can be debunked. This is how Democrat politicians and activists can claim that life doesn't begin until childbirth(or after if they're pushing standard infanticide), recessions don't occur while their people are in the Whitehouse(it always takes additional quarters), everything is coersion and manipulation(except forced abortion, politce oppression, sexual manipulation of minors, and government coersion), guns are bad but police are as well, and other shit.
Fun fact: the reason why Trump lies about meaningless bullshit so much is so that it forces Democrats to refute his statements in their mind using objective facts before the ivory tower has a chance to give the "official" rebuttable. This undermines the postmodernist idea that truth can only come from authority figures especially as the average Democrat is fighting the narrative using objective facts before the subjective narrative can be issued to them from their local bourgeois university. This is also why they hate Trump so much since he's undermining their dependence on authorities for "truth".
So anyway, here's the issue the Democrats are having: this postmodernist political strategy works well when your bourgeois experts can't be disproven objectively and they can't be replaced with other "experts" with different agendas. Covid, trannies, and the Internet have destroyed the credibility of traditional experts while creating new "experts" that aren't controlled by the traditional Dems. The Dems attempt to make voting as easy as possible since thier own voters are higly unmotivated has led to vulnerabilities that criminally-minded socialists are perfectly fine with exploiting especially when there's a major financial incentive(i.e. rich bald guys). Now the Democrats know that their party will be taken over by socialists who will hurt them or it'll have to have election laws that will make it harder for them to convince their voters to actually vote and thus result in the party losing political power.

While this is true, the College Democrats have ALWAYS been run by the most radically retarded members of the party. It's not so much that they've been subverted by DSA, as it is that what DSA believes is simply the de facto political stance for left-wing college students, and has been since the 1960s.

Radicalization was done to make new Democrats use a postmodernist "trust us, the experts" strategy in order to dominate and oppress the working class and steal from the ultra rich and corporations. Its a useful strategy since you don't have to rely on traditional lies because you can just create new "truths" to remain consistant to. The problem was that other people could create those new "truths" which is what the socialists did while suppressing the old "experts" via coersion. A group of angry communists - who openly support violence against political enemeis - hanging out in the universities makes it very dangerous for loyal traditional Democrat-supporting bourgeois professors at those universities to create new "truths" that can be used to protect the party from the radical socialists. If you're a leftist economics or political science professor and you write a scholarly paper saying that democratic socialism doesn't work, then you just put a target on your head for socialists who could muder you with the excuse that you're a "closet fascist".
