Hamilton wasn't penalized for the pitstop incident. But Ferrari has to pay a fine and they also have to investigate their pit stop processes and give the FIA a report on how this won't happen again
A fine and a mandated internal investigation seems fair enough. They didn't gain any time or impact anyone else's race and you can't really blame Hamilton, it was a collosal Ferrari fuck up caused by double stacking, the penalty, and poor communication.

I never thought I'd say this, but I actually feel bad for Hamilton and I'm glad he wasn't penalised. No driver wants to injure a member of their pit crew, and the fact said crew member was put in danger in the first place says more about the management than it does about the driver.

Yes the penalty was questionable BUT he took another driver out of the race (and a fellow title contender to boot) He could have gotten a 10 second time penalty but the stewards reduced it to 5 seconds as he did not do it intentionally
