Since there is no evidence whatsoever of this being true, I have always dismissed it as just crazy talk. A fellow mod from my snark subreddit actually did some groundwork to compare Ellen's activity with the rest of the mod team, and these were her closest matches.

So clearly, it's not an alt account of hers. So how does she have so much power? Joost showed his hand. On this post in the mod subreddit, asking about "community helpers"


And here's the bomb.
"Trusted users" of his subreddits are allowed to delete anything they want at their own discretion with no mod oversight.

By "post" he no doubt means "comments or posts", as he still uses Old Reddit and old imageboard lingo where comments were all referred to as posts. So when we see shit like this and cry mod abuse
