Edit: They may be suing for something a bit more complicated, but they did try to compel her to abort the baby because of the cleft lip and a minor heart issue that doctors recommended was going to be okay. The kid is 2 now and living, soon to find out that daddy and daddy wanted him aborted for fixable issues.

Think this article is burying the lede a bit, they're probably suing her for not going to a damn hospital.

The parents agreed to proceed with the pregnancy after doctors at Mount Sinai Hospital said the baby was generally healthy and had no major problems beyond the cleft lip.

But tensions flared again between the surrogate and the parents when she insisted on a home birth performed by midwives rather than in a hospital, as the parents requested due to the cleft lip.
