I had a friend once who told me about how she got started on DeviantArt in the 2000's drawing innocent things from about age 11-13. It was essentially a way for her to share her anime fanart drawings and get feedback.

She started noticing inflation pictures on the site and saw how they got a lot of views and comments, so she started drawing characters with over inflated stomachs. Because she wanted attention, too, and thought it looked silly.

She got the attention she wanted, with plenty of comments telling her how good her artwork was, Encouraging her to draw more, make them even more inflated, draw them in bikinis to make the stomach stick out more, receiving character requests and other DMs. Probably from people older than she was.

This continued on and on until her mother checked her account and saw all the pictures. Asking her why she was drawing so many extremely pregnant people. She told her mom, oh, they're not pregnant. They're inflated. Which lead her mom down the rabbithole of what this weird shit was, and looking at the comments and accounts of people contacting her daughter. The account was deactivated fairly quickly after that.

She was lucky that she had an awkward, embarrassing come to Jesus moment quickly enough for her parents to intervene and get her out of a fetish community, allowing her to become a well adjusted person. Unfortunately, trans is a protected class online and thus is far harder to protect children from being groomed by these communities. If your parents try to steer you away from it, you are told they are simply being bigots. Even Jax was shown to nearly kill his mother for not fully embracing his identity immediately. I’m not talking about just porn, I mean no kid should be allowed on a site… Well any site without adult supervision first off, but certainly not a site called “Disrupt the status quo dot com”, kids need status quo.
