To give the benefit of the doubt I think that 1 was just to confirm that the npcs are legitimately as intelligent/free willed as the brain scans. Dunno why tf Gummigoo doesn't appear at the end while gloink queen does tho.

What's to bet that the Fornite item descriptions were provided by Glitch before they even decided on Jax being trans.
It'd be hilarious if Goose and the VAs affirming the Trans interpretation is just because that is what the fanbase came up with it and ran with it. And you can't exactly go against it without stirring up a shitstorm. Wouldn't be worth it.

And that adds to another thing. About the gun eps. Caine comes off as so non threatening, why didn’t anybody drill his shit like a dentist or tried it. If nothing matters. Half the main cast shouldn’t even be here.

That nihilistic perspective doesn’t sit right with me. Life itself is beautiful with the experiences we create. Coupled with the fact that you have conviction, to want to do right by your loved ones and your community is what makes it worth it. I’m curious about what message it’s going to imprint on a kid stumble across it.

I feel like shows like TADC with how jarring the tone just clashes you’d have to be intentional about what you want to make. I would respect it a lot more if it stayed in that lane of surrealist dark cartoon comedy. This new shit of niggas trying to have their cake and eat it, too, just opens this Pandora’s Box of unfortunate implications that goes beyond troon shit that I can’t find it in me to properly articulate it right now without feeling sad, so I’ll try to wrap it up.

All I know is compared to a decade or two ago there were shows geared to a general audience that also were trying to push the envelope, but they weren’t trying to be serious, just having fun. I don’t understand how someone can even joke about something like EPI or “corrupting children” through their art, and I think a lot of people should treat these things with more weight than they do.

I wasn’t expecting to have more to say about this than I already do. Hopefully someone gets where I’m coming from.

I stand on the opinion that writers do naturally insert a bit of themselves in every character they make, especially their main characters, "write what you know" and all of that, but there is a clear difference between that and what Goose and other bad writers tend to do is that they shape the story around themselves instead of the other way around. Jax is written, just like the writer, in a schizo fashion, he is absolutely unpleasant but the plot acts like he is just a "Lovable jerk" when he clearly isnt. The plot is adapting to them instead of the otherway around.

There is a very clear and distinct difference between an artist putting a part of themselves into their art, which is inevitable as humans aren't robots, and straight up putting yourself into your art via a self-insert.

That's some Linkara Lightbringer type shit. It's lazy at best and masturbatory by default.

There is also that line by Kinger in the horror game episode to the effect of “the worst thing you can do to someone is make them feel unwanted”. Come to think of it, in this discussion of how different characters seem to take aspects of Goose’s personal life I wonder if Kinger is supposed to be based off of his dad. He’s clearly set up as a father figure type of character, at least during his lucid moments, and I’m guessing his dad was supportive of his transition (contra Goose’s mom). That line by Kinger could also easily fit a father explaining why he accepts his troon son’s transition.

I started watching episode nine. YOU MOTHER FUCKERS UNDERSOLD HOW UNIMPACTFUL JAX'S ABSTRACTION WAS. When you all said it happened off screen I pictured a tearful moment of him walking into his room and characters check on him later to find him abstracted to mirror the clown from the first episode. No, that would be too good and narrativly fulfilling. Gooseworx literally just had him say a nothing line, then JUMPCUT to his abstracted ass running around. There is no build up or suspense at all, I literally hat to pause and take a moment to process how bad that was.
