The message of "actually, the circus was pretty awesome and fun before pomni showed up, and now it's awesome and fun again now that caine is chill" destroys any little remaining pretense of it being a horror series.
what the fuck is wrong with coopy does hrt rot the brain?

The troon community continues to redefine what it means to be a troon all the time. The current, semi-bleached take I see about Jax being "transfem" is that that term can just mean "feminine man". So obviously, to anyone with functioning eyes, means born with a dick but having gender feels and confusion. And the first outfit they put him in is pretty stereotypical drag and not something a normal woman just wears every day while out and about. I also read somewhere that he chose his own name when entering the circus. So why wouldn't you name yourself something more gender neutral at the very least, if that's your current hang up?

It feels like it is also part of Goose's fetish to have people asking these questions but if the shit is truly over then nobody is going to care in a few years. If they did bring Jax back without any of his masks, he'd probably still be a terrible person to be around because you'd have to validate his existence constantly without stepping on his fragile toes at the same time, which is impossible for troons because they don't want you to clock them. So it's too late because everyone already knows what you are just by the voice, the height, the overalls hanging incredibly low on your frame...

When do you guys predict the honeymoon period will end? Because it will at some point. I feel like I should make it clear to the few TADC stans inevitably lurking in this thread, I and a lot of other people I imagine (absolutely not "everyone" lol), didn't want it to go down like this, I don't take joy in seeing bad art get created especially from people who seemed like they were giving it an honest shot, when it first came out I personally was impressed initially by how much I didn't hate TADC, it certainly wasn't my thing but on paper a guy like me should have absolutely despised it, but I for some reason didn't so I figured it must be doing something right. Even though it still wasn't my style at all, I could see the potential and appeal especially when compared to absolutely bottom of the barrel horseshit like MD, but in the end the main undeniable critique has to do with the very clear intentioned mysteries being set up having zero payoff of any sort, episode 8 and 9 really was the point where everything started to collapse completely and it's simple and obvious as to why, it was finally time for the pay off and they had nothing, it's fucking J.J. abram's bullshit mystery box all over again, everything the series had been building up to, it was all for nothing, seemingly proudly all for nothing like that was the point, but anyone with a brain can see they didn't have any ideas in the first place, it was all fluff.
>"YOU LIED, YOU'RE A FUCKING LIAR"

It's so unfair to shit on the unhappy audience members for "asking for too much" or "not letting things stay ambiguous" when that's so obviously disingenuous, there's obviously a fine line between reducing everything to an exposition dump and not following through on ANYTHING you've built up at all. At some point the creeping realization will really root itself in everyone's mind, the cast is pretty much back where they started minus Jax. That was the point of this whole thing. Other than that the whole thing might as well have been a series about a bunch of faggots going through pointless interpersonal drama on VRchat. So trust me when I ask, when will the honeymoon period end? I am 100% genuine and 100% certain it will at some point, this kind of blatant slapdash writing can only stand on stans for so long, I've seen much much more well composed and realized shows, comics, games etc that weren't able to hold up to the following years of critical scruitiny and hindsight. I believe there's absolutely zero chance TADC will, and that's unfortunate, and I'm telling you right now kids, the "W-WELL THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT ACTUALLY" card is only gonna get you so far. At some point you're just going to be defending a guy who proudly and intentionally made a pile of shit for no other reason than to satiate his own ego all over personal beef he has with his Mom.

I'm really confused as to what the circus itself represents. If the humans themselves aren't "trapped" and still have lives outside... then is it just a kind of game? Why do we see Jax at the end (at the bus stop) when it's implied he "died"? Are all the circus members coping with some form of trauma (like Ribbit and Jax), or is it literally just them in that one scene? Pomni's narrated presentation implies that they're all living happy lives, or moving on from past challenges, so... why not just make the connection there apparent?

More importantly: All the characters are in/near St. Louis, do I get an existential toy too if I live there?

It feels like they were shoehorning things in to make it a lot more profound than it was originally meant to be, which makes it just confusing overall. We don't have any real reason to care about their human selves... because at least from what I get they can exist irrespective to their circus selves? We're just left picking up a bunch of scattered pieces strewn around in this episode to understand what the hell this has all been building towards

Now that the series is over, the themes are pretty tranny coded and horrific

- A stagnant life is ok, don't try to improve or change at all, just accept it
- Trans people are allowed to be sociopaths, sexual harassers, and drive others to suicide and still be fondly remembered because they're trans
- Cut off your real family and find a chosen family
- Redemption just takes a single apology

I also hate how every character, including caine at the end, talks in the exact same serious, sad, and concerned tone.

So what royal gets me about the finale is, ultimately, Jax's abstraction feels like a big ol waste of time by how it was executed.

I get it, ya can't save everybody, death just happens bro, etc.

But man alive you've been building toward what will happen to Jax and to take away that hit by off screening it, another issue with it.
Nevermind Jax's abstraction feeling like a 180 compare to the direction he's been going, not having enough scenes to get from point A to B.
Then you proceed to have Pomni go in Jax's mindbrain and waste the time away with Jax's past. There's not much reason to go with that, the abstraction already happened.
This has been built since the gun episode and can't even have at least abstract after learning about his past? Just to give a bit of tragedy? Either that or this is where we find out abstraction is curable.
But Goose must sacrifice Goose past, I suppose.

Caine's Quest is the best segment out of the whole finale.

They could have shown what actually triggered jax to finally snap, maybe even shown what the abstraction transformation process looks like, something unique for the final episode, but they needed that time for more therapy talk

Caine's part was the best because it's purely visual, so no one's talking

It feels like they were going for something but just didn't put it the right way. Or maybe I wasn't too engaged with it to understand
Because all the circus performers are just copies of real people outside. That’s the “biggest twist” of the show.

The details were never really explained, but they all visited a, presumably abandoned, building, and for one reason or another, they all, except maybe Kinger, and the C&A employees, wore what they thought was a VR headset for a game connected to a 90’s PC. In reality it was a “brain scanner’.

The circus is what Caine could build based on the info they fed him when they, C&A, were trying to create an advanced AI. All the performers are just AI copies of real people.

The brain scans were thought to be useless. But Caine found a way to make them work, and the mind scanned AIs wrongfully assumed they were flesh and blood humans trapped in a video game.

Why the circus resembles a video game? It wasn’t ever explained. Presumably it was Caine baiting people to wear the “headset”. Most details we can guess, but were never really explained.

I do not know if anyone mentioned this in this thread, but one of my more autistic friends had a gripe about the whole "they're all brain scans, you're all just copies" ending from an interesting angle.
The computer systems from C&A seem to be from the 90's to late 80's. Presumably these systems are also fairly closed from the outside world to prevent Caine from going Skynet on people (since he had to be fed all the information, likely manually too) or to prevent rival corporations from stealing C&A technology as easily if Scratch and Kinger took their work halfway seriously. Not to mention a computer from the early 90's shouldn't be able to access or load an aughts webpage.
So how the fuck does Caine, an AI who barely comprehends Humanity, an AI who likely is stuck on a closed system, and an AI that's been plugged into a computer that's at best 15 years out of date get the ability to surf and browse the internet? Again, this seems like this wasn't an ability for Carine to have before because it seems like he had to be manually fed information and concepts. And if technological progression is like our own world which it appears to be- he physically shouldn't have this ability, or at the most Caine should only have access to Web 1.0 sites- which would be defunct or sporadic.

I'm sure a more technically minded autist than my friend could poke some holes in what he said, but I find it a fascinating angle to come at the finale from.

Corporations like Google still maintain compatibility with early versions of Internet Explorer, or at least they did until recently, including the old TLS versions and everything. There are gateways that preserve compatibility for older systems, also.

I believe, although I may be wrong here since it's been a while, that Wi-Fi is based on Ethernet standards old enough for this to work. Sure, the PC would be connected through a cord, but a Wi-Fi access point just pretends to be old Ethernet for reasons of compatibility.

It made enough sense to me, knowing what I've just explained.

The whole thing falls apart once you give it more than 2 seconds of thought, really.

How’s that computer still running nonstop since the '90s (no blackouts?), why are people randomly entering this “abandoned building” to wear headsets, who is paying the electricity bill, and why is the building still abandoned instead of another company using it for another purpose? Why has nobody turned off the computer in decades?

If the building is not abandoned, then why are the current owners letting random people enter a workplace and wear a headset? Do they even have security? Why do they even have this computer still there?

How’s a '90s computer that was allegedly a closed system, like your friend pointed out, somehow has access to the modern internet? How is it even compatible? Why does it even have Wi-Fi? That tech wasn't widely used until the 2000s.

Etc., etc.

TL;DR: The fake explanation Caine made up in episode 7 with the pods makes far more sense than the real explanation.

if i wanted to watch a story about addiction id watch trainspotting like a normal person not a weird shitty mix between "no mouth gotta scream though", "toy story", "lost", "max max fury road (not even the best one coopy)", "clerks (i assume the fast food one is ripping that off)" and probably a ton of dumbass anime i dont watch because im not a fag

i wish i could force all """indie""" animation fans to watch cool shit instead of them being enslaved to troon garbage nonsense

i honestly feel bad that most of them will never watch the sopranos or have straight normal sexual encounters because they're so riddled with ssri's and hrt

makes me depressed thinking about how much fuckin' mlp and steven universe ruined the minds of millions of people

I wonder whats gonna happen to that one dutch pooner that named 'himself' Jax (after Jax Digital Circus) now that its technically been a female name all along
jax's name isnt even original thats like the main guy in sons of anarchy dude

thats how uncreative coopy is because of his dumbass porn rattled mind like soa isnt even that good why copy from it

lol toy story

something thats better than the clown fest.
As far as I'm concerned, toy story 5 is worse because as bad as this piece of troonslop is, at least it got an ending.
There is a good story buried in this finale.
There isn't, really.
The rest of the show had fragments of a good story buried under a lot of junk, mainly stuff stolen from better shows.
The finale was bad on a conceptual level:
It speedruns important informations at the start, then provides a deep dive into a character that deserved worse and is much less profound than the author thinks and fibally it ends with a character that should have been gone for good returning from the grave to deliver an undeserved happy ending.
At least in Death Stranding the character names are relevant to their character, even if super on the nose. Pomni meaning remember doesn't reflect her as a character at all and I suspect during a very early draft amnesia was going to be a plot point but was dropped and they kept the name anyway.
Death Stranding is better on so many fucking layers and if you played it, you know how big of an insult it is.
i wish i could force all """indie""" animation fans to watch cool shit instead of them being enslaved to troon garbage nonsense
The animation sphere is filled with trannies and californians.
