They aren't just "these people." They are friends, family and co-workers.
Still gotta have them as your neighbors when this is all said and done.
At this point I’d rather have nothing. These “people”
used to be all those things, until they decided that being miserable sacks of shit in the name of worshipping a pedophile was more important. They became confrontational, blaming their own shortcomings on whatever boogieman the grifters told them to hate at that moment, until they became so insufferable and provocative that no one wanted to deal with their shit anymore, and they’re left as a shell of what was once a fun, lively person. It’s like dealing with heroin addicts who return the favor of trying to help them by stealing from you.
Keep that blind eye turned, and you’ll eventually find that knife in your back too. Some of us have been dealing with this cult up close and personal for a
long time, and have had a lot more taken from them than you have. We’ve seen family members go broke because they’re convinced they have to keep donating to Trump, because his emails say he
needs their money, but when you try to help them get back on their feet and stop getting fleeced, they lash out at you for being a “liberal snowflake” and cut off contact. We’ve seen men lose custody of their kids because their wives can’t deal with the constant, nonstop Qanon conspiracies being inserted into literally every single conversation any longer, and when the divorce hearings commence the judge deems the father unfit for parenthood because they started spouting that shit in court too.
So forgive me if the whole “they’re just like you and me” cope doesn’t work on me, because I’ve spent the last decade seeing firsthand how this cult changes people for the worse. Just because it hasn’t happened to you yet doesn’t mean it never will, so enjoy that bliss while it lasts.
