FRISCO, Texas — Karmelo Anthony, the teen accused of fatally stabbing another teen, Austin Metcalf, at a Frisco track meet, has been indicted on a murder charge, officials said.

A grand jury indicted Anthony on Tuesday, according to the Collin County District Attorney's Office. A murder charge is punishable by 5-99 years or life in prison.

Anthony, a 17-year-old former student of Frisco Centennial High School, was arrested and charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of Frisco Memorial High School student athlete Austin Metcalf in April at a track meet in Frisco ISD's Kuykendall Stadium. He was released from jail later that month after his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000.

Anthony has claimed self defense in the case, which garnered national attention, heightening racial tensions and raising security concerns among everyone connected to the case, including both families and Judge Angela Tucker, who is presiding over the case.

"We know this case has struck a deep nerve — here in Collin County and beyond," Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said in a statement Tuesday. "That’s understandable. When something like this happens at a school event, it shakes people to the core. But the justice system works best when it moves with steadiness and with principle. That’s what we’re committed to. And that’s exactly what this case deserves."

Anthony's attorney, Mike Howard, called Tuesday's indictment "an expected and routine step in the legal process."

"Karmelo and his family are confident in the justice system and the people of Collin County to be fair and impartial," Howard said. "Of course, Karmelo looks forward to his day in court. It's only in a trial that a jury will hear the full story, one that includes critical facts and context that the grand jury simply didn't get to hear."

Howard again raised Anthony's self defense claim in his statement Tuesday.

"We expect that when the full story is heard, the prosecution will not be able to rule out the reasonable doubt that Karmelo Anthony may have acted in self defense," Howard said. "Self defense is a fundamental right guaranteed every American."

Metcalf's father, Jeff Metcalf, told WFAA in a statement that he's "pleased that we are moving forward."

“With the first degree murder indictment, it now goes into the court system," Jeff Metcalf said. "I fully believe that justice will be served for Austin Metcalf. I look forward to the forthcoming trial. But it will never bring my son back.“

Under his bond conditions, Anthony is required to wear an ankle monitor and ask permission to leave his home. If Anthony violates any conditions of his bond, he will have to return to jail. He graduated and received his high school diploma in May, but did not attend the ceremony, WFAA previously reported.

Anthony allegedly confessed to the stabbing immediately after he was arrested, claiming he was defending himself from Metcalf, officials said, as WFAA previously reported.

A witness reportedly told police that Metcalf told Anthony he had to move out from under the Memorial High School tent. Anthony responded by opening his bag and reaching inside, WFAA previously reported.

"Touch me and see what happens," Anthony told Metcalf, according to a witness.

Metcalf reportedly then touched Anthony, the witness told a responding officer, and Anthony told Metcalf to punch him and see what would happen. Soon afterward, the witness said, Metcalf reportedly grabbed Anthony to tell him to move. At which point, the affidavit continues, Anthony reportedly pulled out what the witness recalled as a black knife and stabbed Metcalf once in the chest before running away.

The deep tension sparked by the incident has raised concerns that the case may be tried outside of Collin County. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis told WFAA that the judge will make that decision at the time of trial.

Its not even just murder, its murder, then thousands of nogs calling you the villain, swatting you, gag order, people saying your whole family should die, ect. If you gave me 10million dollars I don't think I could lab engineer a racist from a middle aged guy so effectively.

I think he's basically earned an n word pass unironicly.

They respected me for saying it.

Some girl from my state got chased by a bunch of people recently and hit some with her car. She got charged with all kinds of shit. I can't remember her name, but I'm willing to bet that it had something to do with all this.

People have already been talking about starting a fund for her.

What an odd and confusingly vague story.

Anyways, this could have been avoided if she found one of drive-in movie theater projectors, found out where all the black people live, put up a quick large makeshift screen and put gay porno on it. Maybe plant some speakers around their apartments and homes of these nigger communities and put a loop of two men grunting and the sound of some dude shoving his fist in and out of a jar of mayonnaise?

They would have moved back to some shitty hood in Chicago or Detroit after that.

Ask yourself this: if he went on national TV and called Karmelo a nigger, would Karmelo have gotten more time or less time?
Ask yourself this: If he had just shut the fuck up and grieved in silence with his family, would Karmelo have gotten more or less time? He basically told potential jurors to pity his sons murderer and recognize that he's a human being who is a victim too.

The racists online didn't deserve similar amounts of empathy.

The CRS no longer exists, but it existed at the Federal level. There are still plenty of similar organizations that exist at the State and even County/City level in urban/suburban areas and it doesn’t even need to be an official organization, just someone at the DAs office, a “counselor” for victims that the DAs office or the County or the City provides to “help family members work through their grief”, and “not make things worse” or “not let hate win”.

What I find interesting in Daddy Metcalf’s “Watermelon Felon” diatribe however is that nowhere in it does he call out anyone who may have advised him to say the things he said or act as he did in the immediate aftermath of the murder of his son. As angry and open as he supposedly was in that latest interview, you think that if there had been some person or persons advising him to speak/act in such a way early on that he’d call them out now? Not a peep about it, though, so who’s to say he didn’t need the coaxing? I mean, to me it looks like the dad is just a LOLcow, addicted to the attention and the updoots and whatever. His son gets killed and he takes to the airwaves to demonstrate how great and enlightened of an antiracist he is, gets completely rebuffed by that “side”, and shuts up until the trial is over. As soon as the trial is over, he runs to the other “side” and starts talking about “Watermelon Felons”.

I don't really care what Austin's father said, Grief does weird things to people.
I wouldn't have blamed if he went on TV and called Nigmelo a fucking nigger, but it's probably not a good idea.

On the other hand, Nigmelo's family all behaved like a feral pack of nigs before, during and after the trial.
Apple clearly didn't fall far from the tree.

Also I did see some story I think it was him where he tried to talk to nigmelos family and he got chased away or something
So maybe it was just that that did it,

Either way, at this point I'd tell him to just stay away from the internet.
It's just going to be grifters trying to talk to him and doing internet shows or wtf ever is a bad look.

Starting a crowdfunding campaign to provide for a legal defense for your niglet teenager charged with stabbing an unarmed white teenager to death and then proceeding to blow the money on renting a mansion and buying an Escalade is niggerish behavior.

Chimping out because said niglet teenage boy was convicted for murder, in Texas of all places, and wasn’t given life or the death penalty despite murdering someone in cold blood is absolute peak nigger behavior.

He didn't want to fuck up the court case by giving the caramello family ammunition to use against him and potentially taint jurors.

As a father I'd have kept my mouth shut too until after the trial.
But he didn't keep his mouth shut. He sucked nigger cock on television like a cuck. Just because calling Karmelo a nigger pre-trial would've been a retarded move doesn't make what he did do any less cucked.

As it turns out, having your family threatened and slandered by a horde of low-IQ savage nogs on social media and in person after your son has just been murdered has a tendency to make you just the tiniest bit more racist. Even the most normie non-confrontation white people are getting to the point they'll all but call a coon a nigger. Between the "teen takeovers", the increased noticing of black savagery and how the black community doesn't even attempt to hold the mask up anymore, white people are tired of pretending like these animals can ever be compatible with society. If my son was killed in the manner that Austin was and was immediately followed by grave dancing and thinly-veiled threats, my KF account would have a "Deceased" tag and I would be phone booked by CNN.

You know, there are better ways of dealing with moon crickets than blasting Ram Ranch through tornado sirens

He went on a livestream recently after the gag order was lifted and said some incredibly scathing and based things about the nigger, his parents and the black community as a whole. You can shit on the guy for cucking at the start, but I think it was solely a strategic move and he's since seen the light.
I think it’s pretty reasonable to say the lawyer advised them to not make any comments for the duration of the trial.
Nothing you say will benefit you.
However, stuff you say can harm you.
Therefore, you keep talking to a minimum while court goes on.

To me this is a case of better late than never. I can't think of any others like this that just came out and shit all over the murderer. You certainly didn't see this over the Nowak case. They already have all the targets they can on their back as it is, so they all need to be carrying and arm up the house as much as possible. And get lots of top end security cameras for sure.

Well, what then? You can’t murder them because it’s illegal. But I don’t think it’s illegal to constantly force them to view man ass and gay sex until they move away. Maybe something like this in Clockwork Orange but it’s all video of black dudes getting buck broken?

Also it should play classical music in the background and have a few breaks to talk about Babylon 5 lore.
