FRISCO, Texas — Karmelo Anthony, the teen accused of fatally stabbing another teen, Austin Metcalf, at a Frisco track meet, has been indicted on a murder charge, officials said.

A grand jury indicted Anthony on Tuesday, according to the Collin County District Attorney's Office. A murder charge is punishable by 5-99 years or life in prison.

Anthony, a 17-year-old former student of Frisco Centennial High School, was arrested and charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of Frisco Memorial High School student athlete Austin Metcalf in April at a track meet in Frisco ISD's Kuykendall Stadium. He was released from jail later that month after his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000.

Anthony has claimed self defense in the case, which garnered national attention, heightening racial tensions and raising security concerns among everyone connected to the case, including both families and Judge Angela Tucker, who is presiding over the case.

"We know this case has struck a deep nerve — here in Collin County and beyond," Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said in a statement Tuesday. "That’s understandable. When something like this happens at a school event, it shakes people to the core. But the justice system works best when it moves with steadiness and with principle. That’s what we’re committed to. And that’s exactly what this case deserves."

Anthony's attorney, Mike Howard, called Tuesday's indictment "an expected and routine step in the legal process."

"Karmelo and his family are confident in the justice system and the people of Collin County to be fair and impartial," Howard said. "Of course, Karmelo looks forward to his day in court. It's only in a trial that a jury will hear the full story, one that includes critical facts and context that the grand jury simply didn't get to hear."

Howard again raised Anthony's self defense claim in his statement Tuesday.

"We expect that when the full story is heard, the prosecution will not be able to rule out the reasonable doubt that Karmelo Anthony may have acted in self defense," Howard said. "Self defense is a fundamental right guaranteed every American."

Metcalf's father, Jeff Metcalf, told WFAA in a statement that he's "pleased that we are moving forward."

“With the first degree murder indictment, it now goes into the court system," Jeff Metcalf said. "I fully believe that justice will be served for Austin Metcalf. I look forward to the forthcoming trial. But it will never bring my son back.“

Under his bond conditions, Anthony is required to wear an ankle monitor and ask permission to leave his home. If Anthony violates any conditions of his bond, he will have to return to jail. He graduated and received his high school diploma in May, but did not attend the ceremony, WFAA previously reported.

Anthony allegedly confessed to the stabbing immediately after he was arrested, claiming he was defending himself from Metcalf, officials said, as WFAA previously reported.

A witness reportedly told police that Metcalf told Anthony he had to move out from under the Memorial High School tent. Anthony responded by opening his bag and reaching inside, WFAA previously reported.

"Touch me and see what happens," Anthony told Metcalf, according to a witness.

Metcalf reportedly then touched Anthony, the witness told a responding officer, and Anthony told Metcalf to punch him and see what would happen. Soon afterward, the witness said, Metcalf reportedly grabbed Anthony to tell him to move. At which point, the affidavit continues, Anthony reportedly pulled out what the witness recalled as a black knife and stabbed Metcalf once in the chest before running away.

The deep tension sparked by the incident has raised concerns that the case may be tried outside of Collin County. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis told WFAA that the judge will make that decision at the time of trial.

Blacks don't realize that not a single White person defends White murderers just because they're White. Blacks don't know how a functioning society should work. They think law enforcement is evil. They need to go back to their lawless jungles in Africa. They can stab Whitey and get away with it in Africa, so they should go there.

I think that this is a specifically a minority nigger phenomenon, not the ones that are in actual african nations, except SA ofc.

Not every black person is a Karmelo Anthony supporter, but every single Karmelo Anthony supporter I've seen is black. The only reason someone could support this kid is racial solidarity. It's insane to see it on full display. This is how the OJ trial should have been, had Mark "Nigger guy" Fuhrman stayed far the fuck away from the case.

I have seen three or four white women virulently supporting him and they look just as you'd expect. And I saw two or three white guys on tiktok/ig spreading pro karmelo conspiracies to rile up their conspiracy minded base. The one that was the most appalling was that Austin's dad is such a powerful and connected individual that he was bff's with the judge and prosecutor, and they shared an image of Jeff with two men that are not the judge and prosecutor, and he finished it up saying that the prison karmelo is in, the wardens last name is also metcalf.

Very tiring.

If they had just roughoused it out and beat each other up a bit like two normal teenage boys, they'd both maybe get suspended for a bit and move on. Now instead, one is dead, and the other one has completely ruined his own life. It's entirely the fault of the murderer, too, don't get me wrong; he's the only one who escalated it into something more than two young guys butting heads over something trivial when he decided to stab someone to death. I have to wonder if he will be diagnosed with some kind of psychological issue in prison.

White traitors are worse than niggers

His “psychological issue” is being a low IQ low impulse control negro

wtf does bme stand for? Black M____ E_____? I saw a similar analysis that showed similar rates of blacks convicting whites and whites convicting blacks that I frankly just didn't believe.

Nigger shouldn’t have even been there in the first place, we went to the tent to steal stuff and was caught redhanded.

The fucking numbnuts hyper progressive "friends" I have on facebook are beside themselves over the situation. Normally they're just an entertaining distraction when I need a laugh with their retarded politics, but they have lost their damn minds over this. I think the Renee Good thing broke their brains.

Is this a Rittenhouse situation where they haven't bothered to look into the situation and just blindly assume Karmelo was murdered or is being railroaded for defending himself against the KKK? (For context: a lot of lefties still think Rittenhouse shot up a bunch of black protesters instead of defending himself against three white guys armed with a skateboard and pistol.) There's that video posted earlier of some nog talking about if you kill one of "us" they'll kill whitey in turn, like he's under the impression Karmelo was executed on the spot in the courthouse.

So something that I find incredibly deceptive is the fact that I’ve seen nothing in the main stream media about the Anthony’s spokesman.

Do you remember when Austin’s father came to pray with the Anthony family? The man that cut a fit and called the cops and made this big ordeal about it is an incredibly violent man, he’s had multiple felonies for anything from theft to family violence and he blames it ALL on being black.

This video starts about 50 seconds in (should be time stamped) and goes over his past (it’s probably about 2 minutes long), but long story short not only had he been to prison for beating one woman, when he got out he beat another so badly she fled without her child. Dominique Alexander, the spokesman for the Anthony family, then proceeded to shake her 2 year old until the baby had brain damage. He went to prison for that, and I’ve seen literally nothing in any msm linking him to that.
(As an aside that video is really good and goes over how Karmelo’s mom and that violent fucking loser Dominique basically gave Karmelo and additional 15-20 years on his sentence through their antics, highly recommend you watch the whole thing)
Here’s a fox video from a local affiliate I think
CBS article
Him literally comparing himself to civil rights leaders for being in jail
Another prison sentence for theft (“being black”) I didn’t even know about
One of the only articles I can find that even mention him shaking tf outta that baby

Have yall seen this regularly discussed? I don’t have cable and rarely watch any of the 24 hour news propaganda factories, but I’ve looked into this case a lot and have seen precious little about the fact that this man shakes toddlers to brain damage out of spite. Anything that mentions it just glazes over it quickly and uses “allegedly”, when afaict he was convicted and sentenced for the crime.

When he first inserted himself into this case, yes. He became an informal representative to karmelos family (he helped start the fundraiser iirc) and immediately started doing press conferences, he reached out to the school and threatened to sue if karmelo got expelled/couldnt graduate, and made the anthonys into victims because internet anons showed them gore.

Sarah fields uncovered it all very quick. Everyone in karmelos camp is basically a violent felon.

So was it publicly discussed in the press or with independent journalists? Bc I can’t find a lot of msm info and that feel wild af to me. (Sorry I’m unsure of who Sarah fields is)

Absolutely wild that his charges aren’t referenced every time his name is brought up

Did you really just reply to a post lamenting that people never provide evidence for these dubious claims with another post making the same dubious claims without evidence?
The name of the (very real) agencies/departments responsible for this has been posted several times. One of them is in the first post of the page you said this on.

POST HANDS. NOW.

Gonna go ahead and say Angry Black Male Syndrome is not a diagnosable condition. That’s what we call a stereotype.

I will say at the least the educated blacks have the dignity to realize Karmelo was wrong.

And to be clear, if it was a white killing a black under the same circumstances, I’d absolutely not support the white at all. Or at least not based on being white.
