I think it was a friend of mine that sent me a headcanon that Jax irl isn't trans but Jax in the circus IS trans

My sides. The implication is, he's a tranny that hasn't fully accepted things yet. Notice he freaked out in the bow scene when someone was at the door and threw it on the ground, denied what he told the frog, then cut off contact with the frog. Notice the slurs his inner selves were using. Notice in his version where Zooble abstracted that's the one where he decided to go back to the maid outfit "ironically" with nobody left that would call him out on it, while his other selves kept their view.

He never fully accepted it in the circus, why would he be at the point he'd accept it in reality just yet? Hanging out at the gay bar (and yes it's a gay bar, read the magazine interview in the Zooble section) while his alternate selves use gay slurs is a pretty damn big hint. He and Zooble are the only two said to hang out at said bar, by the way. Accusing him of liking dudes secretly is a stretch considering his interactions with the frog and arguably Pomni and Gangle while going out of his way to hang out with Koufmo with no awkwardness once he cut off the frog. Go back and watch how often he talks about being the peak of masculinity in the show.

It wasn't explicitly stated to maintain the thinnest of plausible deniability and preserve the work as something that people don't reject outright and will watch. That aspect of the work is propatransa made for the normal viewer without pushing things too far. It's working perfectly on you and anyone who doesn't want to believe it.

I don't know how you can see the 8,000,000 intentional and blatant signs placed, consider who the writer is, then come away with the conclusion it's anything but intentional. The reason the film told us he pushed his mom, as well as why he pushed his mom, but didn't explicitly tell us what he told his mom, is pretty damn telling in itself. The only thing you could argue was it was left 'intentionally vague' despite the million blaring red signs.

Anybody going out of their way to defend this is, in my estimation, a fan of the work who can't admit they like something a tranny made about his deadname self-insert journey as one aspect. The cognitive dissonance is apparently too much.

Are you kidding? He did not "change" the show. Look back through the thread and ever peice of media up to and including this dog shit show is troonslop. Why did you think this would turn out different?
Say what you will about PPP, Im not defending him because its off topic, but comparing art, I think the dented zone is much better than the amazing digital circus. At least im not cringing at poorly written and acted lines.
 
Just saw the Movie in theaters,

Here are me and friends review:
I enjoyed each ep of TADC, it was funny and interesting.
The last episode Finale was terrible.

As for the theater, it was calm, didn't smell, no issues. The only part that made people yell was in the credits when a character walks past a door with hearts above indicating two other characters having sex.

Spoilers Below:
Pros: voice acting was amazing, the animation is beautiful.

Cons:
  1. Jax just suddenly abstracts, no build up, no flash-back just BAM next scene he's abstracted.
  2. Gangle, Zooble and Ragatha get nothing on backstory / no more character development, they are suddenly dropped from the plot.
  3. Kinger gives pomni another speech that she is brave, then falls off only serving as a convenient plot point. Adding nothing more to his character.
  4. Caine comes back, turns out he was just in the void, randomly turns good, removes bubble (the blue AI) and locks it away. No further info on why it was evil just dropped completely.
  5. The characters find out they are all scans and copies so there is no way out. They all come to terms very quickly. We only see face reactions of characters.
  6. They rebuild the circus and shows various things they start doing all are boring and cliché.
  7. Caine gets access to a café WIFI only uses to show the cast their real life version. Doesn't use it for anything else, never mentioned again he now access to the Internet.
  8. Ribbit is revealed only to be copy of Ragatha and pomni personality, speaks to Jax who apparently comes out as trans. No prior buildup confusing the vast majority of fans.
  9. Pomni enters Jax's inner thoughts to possibly save him, sees his various personalities fails to save him, the others join her to "fix" Jax, Nothing happens he remains abstracted but doesn't attack them now.
  10. No new information is given or shown on the prior Digital circus characters (Excluding Kaufmo who acts as a third wheel to Jax and Ribbit in a flashback) Nor any of the other abstractions IE Kinger's wife, Scrach the first abstraction etc, they are only shown in the ending credits in a aquarium swimming around with the cast watching them.
  11. Each character learns they can conjure shapes, practicing with the help of Kinger, all they do is patch a few floor holes nothing else.

I gave this show a genuine chance around the release of episode 5 because I saw the typical people screeching about it and figured I might as well get myself informed on the thing Im probably going to hate anyway

I could list a dozen complaints that I'm sure others in this thread have already made, but my primary issue with it is that it's yet another story that you could tell with a physical camera and meat actors. Nothing from this piece of work benefits from it being animated.

The characters having whacky designs is almost completely inconsequential to the story, aside from the one toy box character being dissatisfied with their body, but again, that could be told with a fat or weird looking actor or makeup even. So what is the point of it being animated?
What are meant to be loony toons colorful adventures always just end up as extended therapy sessions anyways, so much so that the backdrops of these sessions are almost entirely inconsequential as well. (See: a multiple minute long sequence of pure darkness and nothing but eyeballsl while another extended therapy session occurs)

All of this is compounded by voice acting that all sounds like terrible "VA twt" community voice acting. Somehow only the male characters actually manage to sound like "cartoon characters," the women all just sound like vtubers or children.

I know Goose is capable of spinning a yarn through the medium of animation, but I feel like this entire project fully fails to take advantage of its medium at all.

Im just really tired of animated shows that could be shot with 6 irl actors and like 3 cheap sets. Bojack Horseman is the worst example of that, but I feel like TADC falls squarely in that camp. Use animation to do things you could only do with animation. You can already tell the story of I Have no Mouth without cartoons, so just do that.

Smiling Friends is a great example of a show using its medium to its fullest to tell a story. You cant film a guy clinging to a helicopter being chased by jets, then being attacked by a sasquatch that gets killed by a skeleton who then rides off on a ghost pirate ship and gets eaten by a sea monster in live action without bankrupting a small nation. It also uses speed and visual timing as things to elevate the humor of whats on screen. Granny in hell sucking that lollipop at 5000rpm is only a joke you can do with animation, and its funny because of that.

I just dont see any of that understanding of the medium in TADC

The only reason its a cartoon is for the fetish material, 100%. You cant make real actors vore and TF each other, so its gotta be cartoons. Gross.
 
Has anybody in this thread or the one about the show covered the huge amount of stage plays that were made in latin america when the first episode of TADC came? Has Gooseworx ever talked about it? One thing Josh failed to point out in the watch parties with PPP is that the pilot was immensely popular with children or ipad babies as I would like to call them which must have helped them get on Netflix and get seen by more people.

I don't think kids kept watching until the last episode but content farms also made money with the characters.

Also I'm sorry about the PL but I had to babysit a 4 year old that was obsessed with this.
This 4 year old TADC fan I met is a kid from my extended family I occasionally see during holidays who raised mostly by her grandma and has her single mom watch over her once in a while. The perfect ipad baby, consuming content non stop, she has a really short attention span. The first time I dealt with her she sang the themesong non stop, only wanted to draw pomni or watch related videos about the characters, it was annoying but I knew it wasn't her fault, I asked her mom if she even watched the single episode she couldn't stop blabbing about and she said no, that she just lets her do her own thing...

Skip another Christmas and I see her again on the third one, I ask the now 6 year if she kept watching TADC and if she wanted to draw pomni. She couldn't recognize the characters now she only wanted to watch kpop demon hunters over and over.

She still cannot get through a 1 hour movie, I kept saying to her grandma this is not normal at the age of 6... Anyways end of story

I did like TADC up to a certain point so I went to the theater the 2nd day after premiere, didn't see any children but plenty of teen girls maybe young adults. I really hope nobody transitions because of Jax.
 
I am shocked and quite frankly horrified that a show made by a porn and fetish artist, which is “intended” for teens and adults, is really just reaching little kids as the main audience. I thought it was just an innocent show for autistic kids but oh I was so, so wrong. (Which if my first thought is that it’s made for the little Timmy’s out there then it’s pretty obvious who’s watching.)
