Okay, I think I figured out what’s been bugging me.

Pomni essentially stumbled upon a potential cure for abstracting… and does nothing with it. No second try, no explaining what she was doing to the others, nothing. Just never get addressed. Hell, just go back into the weird mind place and tell Jax, “dude, just come back with me and you can do this to get Kaufmo and Ribbit back”. Don’t want to tell Kinger you potentially found a way that he can have his wife again? No?? Nothing???

Unironically, I think the show actually needed like two more episodes to flesh some of this stuff out so it doesn’t feel so rushed through.

Some extra episodes would go to fix a lot about this shit, unabstracting Jax, giving us a carnival episode etc. But nope, Cooper is hurt in the pooper.

It shows that no matter how hard you try or how close you get, the end for every troon is ACKstracting.

Anyways I noticed something looking at the movie merch store linked earlier that tells me there was possibly some kind of plot that got screpped.

This limited blindbox thing's "rare figures" are ribbit (not shown here for some reason) and caine...Being killed by bubble.

Ver archivo adjunto 9107676
All these blindbox figure sets have been related directly to events and character designs from the episode that came out around the time they did. It makes it even weirder that this is like "normal ribbit, caine being murdered, everyone partially abstracted and kinger trying to reunite with his wife"

Like I dunno maybe it's just a coincidence but there's a sorta story with these figures that seems much more tied to what came before than what we got.

Also there's a depressed jax at the bottom of the shop page surrounded by abstraction monsters. stranger still the jax itself is an image separate from the background image.

Ver archivo adjunto 9107667
I honestly think this show would've been 100x better if it built up to this kind of tragic ending [everyone ACKstracting except Jax].

When I first saw the pilot and garnered that the show was supposed to be "horror", I was betting on the possibility that multiple characters could actually die over the course of the show, with the horror elements becoming gradually more prominent over time. If it did that, the story would've had some real stakes and consequences.

Many horror/thriller movies and shows [the good ones, at least] will have their opening acts be relatively light and easy-going, so you can get to know the characters before the shit hits the fan. When the shit does hit the fan, characters actually start dying and the tension ramps up. If the characters are very likeable and interesting, that boosts the tension even more - the audience wants everyone to make it out alive, but they also know deep-down that not everyone's gonna make it. Aliens and Day Of The Dead [the OG] both did this exceptionally well.

When the show was still new, I was figuring that maybe, just MAYBE one or more characters could actually ACKstract at some point before the end, so the tension could escalate and make things interesting.

But nah, screw that. Cooper is still a DeviantArt user at heart, so he doesn't wanna endanger any of his cutesy precious uwu OCs [except Jax cause he's a big fat meanie]. Instead, we get a dozen or so therapy sessions , 6+ filler episodes, and no real danger whatsoever.

This show is a perfect example of a seemingly interesting premise being ruined by it's creator/lead writer having no balls whatsoever.

That's Italian Brainrot, basically the Pokemon of Gen Alpha. AI-generated images of weird and strange characters with ridiculous names, narrated by an AI voice in Italian, though there are also versions in other languages like Indonesian, Portuguese, Croatian, Vietnamese, German, Spanish, Turkish, etc.

Ver archivo adjunto 9106711Ver archivo adjunto 9106712

The reason people hate this is because 1) It's made with AI, and 2) Some characters have edgy and offensive audios, like Bombardiro Crocodilo, whose lyrics say:

"Bombardiro Crocodilo, a fucking flying alligator, who flies and bombs children in Gaza and Palestine. He doesn't believe in Allah and loves bombs. He feeds on your mother's spirit. And if you've translated all of this, you're an asshole. Don't ruin the joke, prostitute"

Since the audio is in Italian, many people will not understand what they are saying.

Some characters are also vulgar, like Crocodildo Penisini (yes, that's his name), whose lyrics say:

"Crocodildo Penisini, pepperoni masturbini, Trippi Troppa, crocodini, dildo, dildo, dildodini"
It's actually a compilation of memes from a few years ago people made using ai to shitpost. Tung tung tung sahur specifically was like indeonesian meme or some shit IIRC. People made actual art and animations tied to em the last year or 2 fuck it's already been 2 years in some cases hell fuck shit god damn but yeah a lot of them had sahur here and cappucina in some form of relationship once this style of meme got the label of "italian brainrot" due to the italian TTS audio vids people made of them initially.

Anyways it's weird people increasingly act like really basic Internet meme stuff is this alien thing that's gotta be explained. Also weirder still that IP leeches got ahold of em to put them in fortnite as a collab but hey at least the meme log man's in fortnite to extract his vengance.

Also I predicted this

Not to pull up the classic "I knew it was bad before it went bad", but even before the ending leaks I had 0 confidence they would manage to pull off any sort of comprehensible ending that would manage to close both the undertale adjacent meta narrative and being a good ending in general. I think as soon as they started to lean a bit too much into the quirky emotional relatable plots it became clear that whoever wrote it was way out of their league. Also the fact that every single episode had a specific merch drop and the creator crashed out on social media because "it became way bigger than I expected" is a very deserved consequence, that is what you deserve for feeding this bastardized young adult genre like helluva boss and related.

I think the best thing to come out of it is making smiling friends ending as it did feel even better: An honest show not trying too hard to be something they aren't, and ended as soon as they noticed that continuing to milk it would just make for worst content.

Última edición:
Fuck man, I wish I watched the show after Ep 1 aired so I can get the context of all the happenings lol but I really never got into it.

Oddly enough TADC is really popular when I was in Japan. Last year in the summer there was a shit ton of merch in GiGo and even in Toys R Us Japan too.

The meme is barely a year old. And people are still making these memes. You wouldn't believe me if I told you there's an unironic Italian Brainrot fandom. At least on TikTok, people are still creating new characters every day. The fact that there's a Brainrot wiki should be proof enough.

How autistic do you have to be to dedicate an entire wiki to AI-generated images? I blame Roblox for this.

Something I've noticed about the Italian Brainrot fandom is that some people prefer to focus on surreal horror. It's not that it's inherently scary, but it's a far cry from the meme's origins, knowing that it all started with "look at the shark with blue shoes".

You can make a drinking game out of how many times a character says "It's not your fault" or some variation in the final episode.
Listen, honey, just because it worked in Good Will Hunting doesn't mean you can just apply it to every situation and get yourself an Oscar.

EDIT: I already went over all of this but yeah it's not gonna stop being odd to me how they pull this shit. Other people also point out everyone goes from feeling bad about jax to just smiling and living happy immediately after he's fucking dog-ified.
It would have been simultaneously far less weird and far more emotional for the survivors to just let the abstracted go, Caine gave them his powers, right? why not just permanently delete them like they're burying them or spreading their ashes for good, it's an emotionally satisfying closure that aligns with the messages the finale was going for anyway, that everyone has to accept that they're gone, and the only thing left to do is to move forward.

Remember when Kinger implied that Caine fucking with the Players' minds is what leads to Abstractions? Glad that plot thread went nowhere.
So, managed to see the finale without being spoiled, even though the original theater I was going to go to got closed due to a bomb threat.

I just got out of the theater, so I’m still kind of processing everything that happened, but I’m weirdly annoyed that Jax just stays abstracted. Like it looked like whatever Pomni was doing there was actually working, but then they just said well fuck it I guess. I don’t know, just seems kind of weird.
I guarantee they wanted to keep it just vague enough to give people lorebait about how he'll totally recover one day without confirming it explicitly.
They're already doing it on TroonV Tropes.

Oh hey this guy is sperging about Murder Drones again, eh, I'll join too, I haven't done it in a while, I disagree with some of your takes so prepare for more wall of text
You mean, write the lore for Liam because like 99% of the lore is apparently intentionally left out according to the fans.
Very interesting cope on their part. People always come up with the dumbest shit to justify bad writing for some reason.
>The writing isn't bad! The creator left the story vague on purpose! That's why there's no story! It's not because the writer can't write! It was an intentional creative decision!
Lowkey reminds me of some of the copes I've heard about Metal Gear Solid 5's ending.
>IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE EMPTY AND MEANINGLESS, THAT'S THE POINT, YOU JUST DIDN'T GET IT, CHUD!
:story:
Okay what lore is exactly left out anyway?, as much as I don't like his series for how badly so many aspects of the story were fumbled, lore is the one aspect I would argue he didn't really mess up, at least in a major, glaring way. LV is super autistic about his own worldbuilding with how many details he was sprinkling over, when you take the time put it all together (or just read someone's else post who did exactly that), its actually relatively simple. Solver manifests one day, infects the Worker Drones, starts modifying the WDs as "Disassembler Drones", spazzes out one night on the Elliot Mansion, kills everyone, skins Tessa to become Leatherface, amnesiacs the DDs (except V, I actually forgot why she was left out), and both the Solver and the DDs start killing everyone, Earth is destroyed, Solver expands its influence from beyond all over the galaxy, reaches Copper-9, infecting Nori and Yeva, which eventually led to the extinction of humanity on Copper-9 too, sent the DDs to kill all the other surviving WDs, and the plot proper starts from there on.
Okay so you literally don't know what I'm talking about, that explains it.
I'd recommend at least watching it if you're intending on discussing why it sucks. I like to at least have watched a thing once before engaging in earnest discussion about it.
To be honest, I think the only reason I ended up sitting through the entire thing is because I couldn't look away, the old can't look away from the crashing train effect.

But to give a very quick rundown of everything MD does wrong. (TADC shares some of these too despite being written by a completely different person.)
>Plot is schizophrenic and nonsensical yet somehow meandering at the same time, pacing is ADHD and gives no time for the characters to breathe yet somehow never goes anywhere
The Plot only makes sense if you treat it like an ARG and start taking notes on the little details, which is...definitely an interesting choice to build your story around, which is why the only people I have seen actually defending the series are the giga-autists who spent the time meticulously analyzing every frame and keep swearing it's "kino" and I just "don't get it", I compared this show to FNAF, but even then, from FNAF 1-6 at least (because the lore becomes even more unnecessarily convoluted pretty much after that), you can get the basic gist of what's happening by just watching the ATARI-style cutscenes.

Typically, when most shows drop important lore bits, they tend to keep it focused on that piece of lore, just so the audience have the time to process it and what it could mean for the story, Murder Drones has a challenge that it has an extremely limited runtime with a fuckton of lore to spread, now, theoretically, you COULD fit all of that and also maintain the good pacing if much of the comedy bits that happen to make up a lot of the show were heavily scaled back, but this is Liam we're talking about, so he went with option 2, stuff most of his lore stuff into "blink-and-you'll miss it" moments.

I know everything is subjective, especially when talking about creative processes, but, fuck, this made watching the show not that fun at all for me, I don't want to pause at every lore drop when watching a VIDEO.
>There is no character development at least no satisfying character development one character goes from hating someone to literally laying down their life for them in the next episode that's about it, nobody else really changes in any meaningful way
FUCKING this, I hate almost every character, not only are they not that funny, but all of them are extremely shallow and most of the potential angst or character development doesn't happen, skipped offscreen, or barely acknowledged, I don't even know why it tried character drama when it does not have the time to properly do it at all.
>Classic millenial humor where it's impossible to know what is supposed to be a joke and what is supposed to be taken seriously
I think it was pretty easy to see where it was trying to be funny and where it's trying to be scary, the problem is the mind-numbing level of tonal dissonance that breaks all of the established "tension" and "stakes" to the point it's impossible to find any sort of sincere emotional connection with anything, this is what we call breaking the suspension of disbelief in writing, the most important thing every writer must do when making any remotely serious story, is to make sure your audience is sucked into whatever story you are telling, that includes making sure the fiction has an internally consistent logic, believable characters, even just making it feel like the world is its own, living universe is usually enough, you can stretch the suspension in some aspects (it's surprising how much you can get away with), but breaking it will KILL any emotional connection the audience has for your story, and that's worst type of audience reception you can get, it essentially is a signal that your story just isn't that good at all.
>Several plot threads that you think are going to be important or explained later are then never elaborated on or even brought up again
The only thing that mattered is the main Solver plot, everything else is irrelevant.
>Nobody not even the main antagonist really has a clear motivation for why they're doing anything
Solver wants to eat the universe; Everyone else doesn't want that to happen.
>Several characters just exist to exist and don't really do anything of note even characters that you might have thought were gonna be important
Oh yeah, J, Alice, Thad, Khan, a lot of side characters that barely did shit, the fans gave them more attention way more than the creator ever did.

When I first saw the pilot and garnered that the show was supposed to be "horror", I was betting on the possibility that multiple characters could actually die over the course of the show, with the horror elements becoming gradually more prominent over time. If it did that, the story would've had some real stakes and consequences.
It's weird how it marketed itself as being like "This isn't a normal kiddie show!", and then it just became a normal kiddie show, only the characters sometimes talk about sex or alcohol.

Not necessarily, I don't regret watching everything before ep9 it's just been retroactively diminished because of how shit the ending was. Maybe if the author wasn't a tranny that got overly fixated on a single character it could've been kino. We'll never know.

I still maintain he should have stuck with it.

Honestly I kinda wish I had a ragatha plushie just to hug her. She deserved better....:autism:

A friend of mine got dragged to the movie against his will by a tranny friend of his own. I got the PPP fire and brimstone rant from him when he finally got home. Funnily enough, he said his troon friend was disappointed and gave it a 4/10 overall.

Why is he friends with a troon, ew
