Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

SotN, CotM, and CV2 are all harder than beating NES Castlevania with no save states or continues
Not really. Your average goober can beat SOTN with no save states or continues by using proper strategy. Just avoid stronger monsters until you're strong enough. Especially with Alucard, you can turn into mist or fly away as a bat. Way more options than the other games.

Mario RPG sounds retarded because it's not a game where Mario has a rocket launcher. Why didn't they do that instead of that gayass game where he has a watergun.
Because Mario is a kids' game character. That, and a water hose is pretty based when used correctly.

The X-Nauts were great for sure.
I love how they were the dorky comedic version of the Empire from Star Wars, complete with Lord Crump being a joke version of Vader and Grodus as their Palpatine.

Shit, Grodus even shoots lightning at the end fight with him. It's like poetry, it rhymes. The problem for him was that the Shadow Queen was the closest the Mario series got to having a Darth Vitiate or a Darkseid-style character. It was still fucking hilarious when she zapped him, though.

There rpg games where you build a character and there's rpg games where the character is already built and you just level them up, and I don't think there are any of the later that are any good

Now you're just hurting my feelings for no reason.
I'm serious. SOTN has plenty of ways to offset death, so many ways that it makes the game way more player-friendly than the NES Castlevania games. The latter are almost as hard as Ninja Gaiden, whereas SOTN is like Super Metroid where you can always retreat to the last save point if things get too dicey. And unlike Samus Aran or Simon Belmont, Alucard can fly or turn transparent later in the game.

The most challenging part of SOTN is the earlier part where you're a goober who just lost his best weapons, but as time passes and you grow stronger, the challenge factor solves itself. I ran across Beelzebub near the end of the game, and that was after I wasted Galamoth like a punk. So I just turned into a poisoned cloud of mist and easily killed Beelzebub.

Games like Fallout 2 had nationalistic Americans be literally portrayed as Nazis who want to gas the planet.
Enclave was something out of an X-Files gubmint conspiracy, a pastiche of 90s American imperialism, and one big joke about Clinton and the way he "saved" Kosovo by bombing the shit out of it to take the press' attention away from the Levinsky scandal... where do you see Nazis there? Vice president Bird is a giant collage of dumb politician quotes like that guy who said "it's spelled potatoe, not potato" - anyone even remembers that?
"Nationalistic Americans" are the NCR which is postapoc Texas portrayed in a positive way.
When Fallout 2 was released, neither Dubya nor 9/11 was a thing yet and Nazism was a dead ideology nobody treated seriously.

Smatterings of MCU-tier dialogue aside, the new God of War game looks fun. Hope there's more mythologies than the ones presented in the trailer. Greek seems like a given and I wouldn't be surprised to see Ares, Athena and Zeus pop up.

David Cage is obviously a frustrated filmmaker that desperately wants to be part of Hollywood, but he makes more entertaining Hollywood slop stories than Hollywood. I'd rather watch people play Detroit: Become Human than watch most A24 films, never mind mainstream films today. Like, who's the better mystery movie guy, David Cage or Rian Johnson?

According to Steam Replay, the median Steam user played four games in 2025. If you are even peripherally aware that non-AAA exist, you are a turbo-autist weirdo.
Look, Steam can't detect my pirated copies of the Deus Ex prequels, CoH1 and Ghost of Tsuhima, so how on Earth would they know?

the funny part is that only spacewar can be detected only if you make very specific multiplayer patches for some games, not all of course so there's a lot of data steam doesn't have.

60 000 players? that's more than a good chunk of modern games.

They even tease us by giving her a dead boyfriend and a skintight suit. I mean, that's just perfect for a male Shepard to waltz in and be her replacement for Keiji.

They could have just made her a side romance like Kelly or make her Catwoman to Shepard's Batman.

Oh that reminds me I once had fun writing a piece of fan fiction(Don't judge me I was unemployed and only had free dial up as my contact with the outside world so everything I did online had to be mostly text based)where a subplot involved her and Garus hooking up, that was a fun pairing.

Same as me.
Idk, i like both Miranda & Tali. Jack is only when you are enough Renegade but not entirely bastard.

that would basically make her jack 2.0 with the whole mourning and shit.
samara was a huge cockblock too, not to mention that all of the flirty stuff that happens to you but you're unable to pursue further with many characters is pretty meh too, shepard always has free time to bang bitches while fighting the reapers.

Kasumi is more like Tali 2.0, but a human version. Especially with the emphasis on tech and a hoodie.

I can understand Samara being a cockblock because she's their equivalent of a Jedi/Knight Templar, so her heart belongs to the cause, not to you. As much as she might like you.

That, and Samara's kids turned out to be genetic defects. So the last thing she wants is to spread her defective genes, although a human-hybrid Asari might've helped offset the Ardat-Yakshi thing.

They could have just made her a side romance like Kelly or make her Catwoman to Shepard's Batman.

I always pair up Garrus with Femshep, because on the one hand she'd find the idea of Garrus taking after her example after she "died" to be extremely flattering, and that guy needs something nice in his life to make up for his squad getting wiped. So I figure FemShep's hot bod being his would make up for it.

Same as me.

I always thought a paragon Male Shepard would do Jack the most. As in, he'd think "I can fix her" and turn her good. He'd basically fuck the bad mojo out of her system and turn her into a good, trad Christian girl.
