They can't even answer you, all they do is look at you like this:
I was always under the (apparently mistaken) impression witnesses could be silenced/censured/sanctioned -- even if they're seated congressmen or senators themselves -- for refusing to answer questions or evading them like this. At the very least, can they not be interrupted and dismissed so as not to waste time at the hearing, and held in contempt to prepare themselves for a second try at behaving themselves and actually answering the fucking questions they're asked?

I ask this seriously. These aren't courtroom proceedings. These are post-high-school debate club debates, with actual rules and requirements, with the power of congress (and "contempt of congress" therein) behind it. If you're going to sit there dumbfounded for almost half a minute either literally silent as you scramble for an answer or you're just going to repeat yourself over and over as you stall for time because you can't answer a question, surely that can be punished at this level of government, shouldn't it?

She is literally elected and paid to be there as an expert witness to answer such questions. There should be a penalty for such blatant failures.

It was all the way back during the steroids in baseball hearings that most people realized congressional hearings are absolutely pointless and toothless

In absolutely devastating American political news, the Stargate show that was being worked on by the people involved in SG-1 and Atlantis has been canceled by Amazon.
Original was before my time, but if Amazon cancelled it I’m sure it would have been great.
Looking at the state of Star Trek/Wars....
I'd say Stargate just dodged a yuuuuuge bullet, and I'm heaving a sigh of relief, myself.

They will never understand he says shit just to fuck with them:

To be fair a permanent structure that references the Roman coliseum and matches the White House aesthetic would actually look nice and would probably be useful for Presidential speeches to the public and other events

Just maybe scootch it back a bit or make the lighting structures fold down so it doesn’t completely obscure the White House. Maybe make it partially underground?

The media's collective ignorance is still funny yet annoying at the same time. I'm convinced at this point their inability to understand Trump's trolling them is a lie. They know they're simply to arrogant to admit Trump's played the media for fools.

Fuck that. Give me some real thunderdome. I wanna see congresscritter bloodsports.
