/r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

why the fuck is he called nuclear liberalism, that sounds interesting
meanwhile this is the most boring fucking idea for a president EVER

So thinking about how Josh put the HOI/TNO community up as a candidate for the Community Watch Award 2025 despite that year being sorta slow. Did he just mess up his precognition powers and he actually ment Community Watch Award 2026?
We are not even 5 full months in and we already had 2 autists threatening lolsuits via ChatGPT esq. , 1 v 6 (+ Günther cheerleading on cam) LARP matches about the future of Europe that has NAFO coping and Ziggers acting like they won IRL and now a Danish crossdresser getting the Twitch boot for supporting Operation Unthinkable with McArthur characteristics, while Grisha is in talks with more actual politicans to watch him play map games.
Could this year be the great comeback for HoI, I mean it is the 10th anniversary...

From a light glance, it seems the most immediate problem TNO faces is that its head developers want to work on another game called The Campaign Trail, but are using HOI4 as a base to tell their story for unknown reasons, and have no interest in the wargame genre. They are using the engine to make an entirely different game it is unsuited for.

This is also one of the more active threads on the subforum, though lord knows if we didn't talk about other mods it would be dead as a doornail.

TNO would work a whole lot better as either a CYOA/Visual Novel, or as a mod for Suzerain. I've no idea if Suzerain even can be modded but I recently picked it up and it's the kind of game that the TrooNO modders wish they could make.

I believe they quite explicitly stole several mechanics from suzerain and ported them over from yippie.

In my humble opinion I would personally prefer a middle of the road approach. So more like victoria rather than an outright visual novel. You can still keep some some of the events but limit it to like once a month. Then again guandong was quite good and that shit had a ton of events stacked on top of the other so idk

Was aware of TFR then, but says he was radicalized back in 2022. Probably by, as I said earlier, Terrorgram channels.

I don't get how anyone could get radicalized into becoming a terrorist from playing hoi4 mods, Shouldn't they get radicalized into ROTC or founding a political party? Wouldn't that be the logical conclusion to playing hoi4 mods?
Joe Steel was really an enlightened centrist when you think about it.
He did kill more commies than any based right winger ever did.

At this point, we might as well have the thread renamed to The HOI4 Modding Community, as it would be far more accurate to what's in the thread, rather than it being solely focused on TNO and HOI4 Reddit.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=FaL0zpTUxfcLooks like ISP made video about Fagoen situation
I'm actually surprised ISP is defending the ban. I thought he would have suggested a perma is a bit harsh, or something like that. But this has been a sobering lesson for all Twitch streamers, unless you're a fat-titted bimbo or a small-headed Turkroach, you cannot talk about genociding people, even if it's dirty ziggerorcs.
Edit: He makes a very subtle mention of Hasan

I decided to go check out Bokoen's first stream on Kick and it sounds like he's already warming up to the site due to the sheer helpfulness staff provide. On day one, he was given a direct contact to Kick staff, where on Twitch, he was completely in the dark. It also sounds like he's going to be making more money, if he can keep his old viewership, at least. It's also extremely funny to note that there are tons of primarily Twitch chatters who clearly have never ventured out to sites other than Twitch, so they're all freaked out like wild animals introduced into a new environment.

Hardly precognition, at best an idiot savant moment of stumbling into being ahead of the curve. I mean no disrespect to Josh, but he's clearly didn't have his finger on the pulse of HOI4 drama when he brought it up during the awards since he talked about it as if there hasn't been any evolution since 2021. Funny trans Himmler giganazism is gone and up until TFR hit the scene the years preceding it were marred by the utter malaise of radcentrist dudes that don't even play HOI4 removing all wars in the name of realism. This was further accentuated a while later when he teased TNO drama on another MATI episode, only for it to actually be TFR and completely unrelated to TNO. He really needs to re-familiarize himself with the scene, but admittedly with how dry it was for a while I can see why he hasn't.

I do agree that HOI4 drama is really making a comeback though. Even TNO drama is starting to make a comeback with all their devcord leaks, them being way behind on everything, the overscoping, the morale drops, leads being purged, leads saying that no one wants wars in their wargames and so on. Diversity truly is the strength of HOI4 drama this year: TFR/YouTube for the spectacle and shock, with TNO providing the slow-burn behind the scenes crises and rot. There really is something for everyone. :)

Made it big with (safe) edgy Millenium Dawn videos in the late 10s, but he has since deleted many of the edgier ones e.g. some Sadam Hussein videos.
He had a small, light-hearted spat with the Yogscast, until he was invited to one of their Civ games, christmas HoI-stream and later properly joined them (is he still associated with them?).
Running like 5 different channels. I'm assuming to game the algorythm by splitting up content to keep viewer retention high by only uploading content they will like.
Subscriber begging with his varied challanges (Artillery only, Bhutan, Alf Landon etc), but I'm cutting him some slack there.
He is making content with his GF now, who i think is another content creator or something. I'm not keeping up with his stuff off-YT, so that's all I can remember just from his YT presence.
