You'd be surprised how hard it is to block a purchase paid for by your own investors. Domestic us investors with over 12 trillion all deal with China all over the usa. And we have an 8 trillion deficit with China. If Nvidia and China and Amazon etc. all stopped investing in the US economy we'd have to pay 20 trillion in debt overnight, our currency would massively inflate. And our people would all starve to death. When someone owns a massive stake in your economy they get to do shit against your will. Same with any other business. It sucks. But that's the price to pay for engaging in private equity. The US wanted an economy after a massive recession during Reagan's term. And it was either let China but our gold and our farms or we all starve to death.
