Whole word reading. It's a teaching method that focuses on memorize entire words instead of reading the letters and sounding it out. Heck, if I could have gone back in time to when the Constitution was written would have put in a system where there were no elections whatsoever, that all offices at all levels were filled by a drawing of those eligible through age, physical condition, and no felony convictions. You could only be selected as President or Vice-President if you had first completed a term as a state governor, a US Senator, or a US Representative. Selections would be staggered to ensure continuity. Presidents and Vice-Presidents would be selected at different times, for example. There would be maximum ages for selection - this way, you wouldn't have fossils like so many currently in office. And you served only one term in the office selected to. Once you completed your term as President, you were no longer eligible to be selected to any other office, you had your turn in the barrel. A little oversimplified but believe this would work better than the present system.

To be honest, the extremists in both parties have too much sway. People who try to put country over party, such as Fetterman and Sinema, get vilified by the extremists.
Advise you to do some research, but first define what you consider are good results. Look at who's in office representing your state. Look at those in lesser offices, such as state/county/city. Sadly, sometimes all you can do is choose the lesser of the evils.
And sometimes, as the Freak Brothers put it, "I couldn't find anybody it didn't make me sick to vote for."
I stick with the GOP because I despise people who believe drag shows for little kids are normal, who fly flags I wouldn't wipe my ass on, who believe we should allow all sorts of illegals into our country, who believe we should lionize the criminals, disdain the law-abiding, and despise the victims. The GOP isn't perfect at all but I don't see them doing their best to tear the country apart, and Ike was President when I was born.

I'm going to give you the most unsatisfying advice you'll ever get, but probably need to hear. Figure it out yourself. Read the thread and the ongoing political events, see who's causing changes you agree with and back up that person/group. Here's a few more bits of advice that pertain to your particular gripes.

There was a way to run in 2024 with out tanking your political career. Basically saying that Trump is your candidate, but the Democrats are doing everything they can to remove him and should they be successful the people should have a voice on the nomination.
Ron instead ran on Trump bad, either because that's what he was given the national spotlight to do, he took the advice off extremely bad advisors, or legit thought he was better.
Either way I have no interest in him at the Federal level. I'm glad Floridians appreciate him, but I think he's done as a Presidential candidate for two reasons, he took a shot at the king for the RINOs and he was so terrible on the campaign trail he came third place to a turbo RINO Indian woman.

Iran anticipated this for like 30 years and build huge underground facilities that the US has bombed many times in the last month and a half. It's just not effective. If you're very prepared, it's relatively cheap and easy to block the strait, whereas its extremely hard and expensive to try to clear it. And Iran is there, whereas the US is halfway around the world and burning money at such a rate it makes your head spin.
