I had this idea in my head earlier. What are some of the worst episodes of television you've ever seen?
Backdoor pilots count as do dreaded musical episodes.

Here's some of mine.

Full House - Michelle Rides Again (1995)
This is the two part series finale of the ABC sitcom Full House. Michelle Tanner (Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen) has an accident where she falls off her horse and gets amnesia. Everyone worries about her for a combined hour. Joy. What a way to end the series! (Supposedly it originally wasn't intended to be the end but John Stamos and Candace Cameron both stated they were leaving had the series been renewed.) The twins didn't know i was the final episode until they received their scripts. (It reminds me of the finale episode of The Brady Bunch where Greg graduates and has an incident with his hair color changing. Robert Reed hated that shit and declined to appear. )

The Golden Girls - Empty Nest (1986)
This is the season 2 finale. The leads only appear sporadically as the episode is instead all about their neighbors, one of which is Rita Moreno. She's having marital problems. That's it. That's literally the episode. Moreno revealed decades later that the script wasn't even finished when she filmed the episode. The actors were given new scripts each day and never knew in advance what it was going to be. Eventually the concept was retooled as the sitcom Empty Nest which ran until 1995. This time it stared Richard Mulligan as widowed pediatrician Harry Weston living with his dog Dreyfuss and two daughters Carol and Barbara in Miami. They also had a dimwitted Casanova type neighbor played by David Leisure. (Leisure was in the original Golden Girls episode as a different character. He was the only thing that survived the transition to series.) Show is pretty good and in some aspects it holds up better than GG. The four ladies make appearances on it (and vice versa) throughout the series. They also reuse a plethora of different actors that appeared on GG.

Star Trek TNG - Sub rosa
Beverly Crusher has sex with a ghost. Decades before Ke$ha, Gates McFadden acted her damndest out of an episode of The Next Generation that she should have gotten a raise.
 
The entire Saved By the Bell College episodes.

Every episode in the last season of That 70's Show that had Randy.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Beer Bad.

All of That 80s Show.

Roseanne: season 9. The entire lottery plot. Plus killing off Dan at the end. It's considered the worst season finale.

The episode of Friends when Monica thinks Chandler is into shark porn and the episode where Phoebe tries to teach Joey French. They made Joey borderline retarded at the end.

All the episodes of Married With Children with that Seven kid.
 
I think we should make a rule of no series/season finales (since we already have a thread for those), and no post decline episodes of a show (else it will be most Simpsons episodes).

Every episode in the Endless Eight arc in the anime Haruhi Suzumiya besides the first one. The idea is that the main characters are in a time loop only the robot is aware of, and to drive that point, the animation team animated the same episode 8 times, killing any hype for the much expected new season,and proving that even otakus won't buy dvds of everything
 
The final episode of Jim Henson's dinosaurs where everyone dies. I knew the show was horribly preachy thinly veiled propaganda, but the last episode was the final fuck you to the audience.

The "A very special episode of" of TV shows. Every TV sitcom with a child/teen audience had to make some episode with whatever cause was popular in the 80's and 90's. Mr. Belevadere was one of the worst offender with episodes about child molestation, rape, drugs, death, homelessness, and pet over population.

Deep Space 9 decided in the end of the run the Fergengi were going become socialist and implement universal health care, labor unions and etc. The whole series carefully built up the image of their society as militantly capitalist, but a the last minute makes ROM their new leader. Star Trek the lower decks now has them as race of leftist cucks. When the ferengi are written by leftist jews as a self caricature of jewish talmudic business ethics they had to revert back to the mean to become plain old current day leftist hollywood space jews.

There's a bunch of completely forgettable subplots in a lot of South Park episodes that are gross Jewish shit and piss humor that get overlooked because they're next to some of the funniest stuff of all time, but Oprah's Minge stands out in memory as one of the absolute worst episodes. Jackovasaur was excruciating but it falls into avant garde because it's making fun of Jar Jar.

There's a particular episode of Law and Order SVU where Olivia almost gets orally raped on camera and the sequence of events to bring the series to that point is so contrived that you're forced to assume it is a fetish of someone. Mariska Hargitay is like a savior of children in that show and the entire thing is deeply uncomfortable.

South Park is 70% pure shit and 30% gold.
 
Lucifer had an episode where Amenadiel, played by a black actor and never once made reference to his skin tone, was worried his half human son would be discriminated against. In LA. In the late 2010s/early 2020s.

Similarly, Brooklyn 99 had a couple very special episodes about Terry's character being black and Rosa coming out as bisexual. The former felt forced as a situation similar to the above. The latter was okayish because unlike everyone supporting Holt, Rosa's mother was not immediately accepting of this revelation, but the ick comes from how dating women seems to become Rosa's personality for a few episodes after.

The Simpsons episode "Homer vs Dignity", the scene where the panda raped Homer.., the episode "The Principal and the Pauper" looks like a masterpiece compared to this one.

The episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine where Amy says she'll divorce Jake if he doesn't want to have kids. It comes out of nowhere, it's really out of character for her to not have planned ahead (or had the talk with Jake before they were married) and it's not surprising it's one of the least liked and most skipped episodes of the show.
