The only thing driving your scenario is the fact that Gerrymandering is allowed at all. There have to be better ways than drunken scribbles on a state map. And, if drunken scribbles on a state map are the catalyst to a civil war, then we deserve the misery and generational trauma that brings. But Gerrymandering itself is just a tool politicians invented and continue to allow them to play Fuck Fuck games.
There's not much more they can do, because they've already been gerrymandering their own states for decades, and really accelerated it after the 2020 census. Any other seats are going to be around the margins at this point, while the GOP has multiple states in the South, where there's less tolerance for being Yankee controlled opposition, that they can reap. Plus, if larger blue states like California, Colorado, Illinois, and New York decide to gerrymander out ALL Republican districts, the GOP in the south will get rid of the last blue districts, too.
I had not really thought of that but I think the more likely cause for Texas and Florida is that they know there has been a huge influx of Dem voters and are trying to head off a slaughter. When there is a loss in those states it is not a statement on approval it is the lesions of the AIDS that have infested those states.
The difference is the dividing line isn't between states but rather between the American people in all states and the foreign invaders (and the bureaucrat class that supports them).
