They're going to keep trying until an attempt succeeds, even after the presidency is over. No amount of punishment will deter future attempts, either. The people who try this are too far gone, and any attempt to reel them back in would be political and social poison because of how vitriolic things have gotten.
If I recall correctly, the really big attempts were Pennsylvania, the golf course attempt, that one British guy(?), and now this. So approximately four attempts that we know of.
I believe that makes four.
