Crime D4vd Arrested for Murder of Celeste Rivas - Groomer turned baby mama murderer finally gets comeuppance

Singer D4vd has been arrested for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was found dead in Hollywood in the trunk of his Tesla in September.

According to the LAPD, D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested by the Robbery-Homicide Division for the murder of Hernandez and is being held without bail. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office on Monday for filing consideration.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed they were investigating a trip the 21-year-old took to the Santa Barbara area sometime during the spring of 2025 following Hernandez’s death. A spokesman for the musician said in September that he was “fully cooperating with authorities,” though as of Nov. 18 NBC Los Angeles reported Burke was no longer cooperating with law enforcement.

Officers were called to a tow yard on Sept. 8 following reports of a foul odor coming from the car, which had been on the property for several days. Police found a dismembered body that had been placed inside of a bag in the front trunk of the vehicle.

The car was registered in Hempstead, Texas to Burke and impounded after being abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, where neighbors complained of a rotting smell. As of Sept. 9, the case was being treated as a death investigation.

Hernandez was reported missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, Calif., last year. She was last seen in April 2024, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. After her body was found, police said that because a manner of death had not been determined.

Shortly after the discovery, Burke quietly canceled his U.S. tour and postponed the promotion of his deluxe album.

Glad they finally got around to thinking he might be involved in the murder of the girl whose decomposing corpse was found in his car. I know he's Black so you'd never think he'd be involved in a crime given the legacy of systemic oppression his people have faced. But after a year it's good to see they've considered the theory that he just possibly might have allegedly had something to do with it.
 
I remember the clips of his buddies going "BUT HE WAS ON TOUR" in denial, as if it's impossible to hop on a plane after dumping a girl's body in his own car. They even joked about how they'd still listen to his music even if he was guilty
 
There is so much incompetence on display in this case.

The police are incompetent for not arresting him sooner, like right after the body was found. He is incompetent for using his own vehicle to hide the body and for writing multiple songs betraying his motive. She was incompetent for thinking it was a good idea to date this psycho killer, and her family was incompetent for not stopping her.

It is only because of the collective incompetence of all other parties involved that the incompetence of the police didn't result in him getting away with it anyway. Though we cannot rule out some new incompetence from the justice system leaving that door open.
 
It only took fucking months, I get that they needed to make a case but damn.

It's those people*, shitty rappers get arrested daily for less than murder. Notice a fucking pattern and bear down on that shit.

Amazed he didn't fly out of the country or anything like that in all this time. Then again, I guess if you are dumb enough to leave the rotting corpse of a girl you wrote about in your music in your car in an impound lot... probably not a genius.

But the average Californian juror is nearly incapable of acting normal, and unless a mountain of evidence is provided they might unironically let him skate for being black, even though he hid her rotten body in his car and stashed it in a junkyard. Either that or the cops are genuinely, atrociously incompetent and haven't been actually using any of this time to build a strong case.
 
Tl;dr for those who don't know the full story and don't wanna read the article: Pedo nigger rapper raised by well-off fundies groomed, and abducted a 12-year-old girl, murdered her roughly a year later, left her rotting in the trunk of his car for possibly months, and wrote several songs basically self-snitching about the entire thing.

Also, the girl's family is shady, too, and it's unclear when she was exactly murdered as the last confirmed sighting of her, and possible digital evidence of her being alive are months apart with the latter being the final one, and that itself also being several months before her body was found.

I just really wonder what the fuck took them so goddamn long, considering how blantantly fucking obvious it was this dude was obsessed with that teen and all the reports of burn cages and chainsaws.
Hope he gets a speedy trial into another life.

Thats a fair point but what I don't understand is why they couldn't spend this time building a strong case while he's in jail under suspicion of murder.

You can be arrested and charged with a crime long before they have to indict you on it, and you can be denied bail during that time if you pose a reasonable risk of fleeing the country or harming others. He fits that bill.
 
Anyone confused why it took so long:

1. LA justice is notoriously celeb friendly and the whole system will defer to the industries and monied interests in all but the most egregious cases where the celebrity is not given any support.

2. D4vd and his family/nig friends ran a campaign of shutting up witnesses and making things as hard as possible for the investigation to move forward even to the point of straight paying off people. Allegedly. I have no actual proof or anything this is all chatter people keeping up with it were saying.

3. Even with all that the case isn’t exactly easy as shit, there’s lots of ways even a rock solid case can get fucked up, so it behooves them to take their time to make sure everything is done right in a high profile murder so they don’t have another OJ fiasco.
