There's a possibility he appeals and the courts just go so slow that it takes like a year to make a decision, so he has to stay in jail for that whole year, which would be pretty funny. Keep in mind he'll be represented by a public defender who does the absolute minimum as well. It would almost be like an extension of him saying that if he had just plead guilty he'd be back in America by now.

I figure at some point, in the distant future, he'll calm down a bit after spending a good chunk of his adult life in and out of jail and prison, after Japan, South Korea, and then after whatever he does in the US. It will take years and years for that level of reflection to be drilled into his head.

So doing some light reading on Korean prisons.
Apparently they try to house non Korean inmates with other non koreans but there's such a population problem he's probably going to be in a cell with 10 or more inmates who will most certainly get sick of his shit fast. They all have to sleep on the floor, they all use a bucket of water and soap to wash with. This alone is going to be torturous for the other inmates because knowing this niglet he just won't bother washing. Stinky nigger smell all day will make him a very unpopular guest and he may not have a single person to speak to because of the language barrier.

The compulsory labour isn't realistically going to be gulag style rock smashing, but rather basic agricultural work or manufacturing. Picking cabbages in the hot Korean sun or making shit in a sweatshop for 8 hours a day is far more work than Mr Somali is even remotely accustomed to. Most prison guards don't speak English and they're liable to treat him like the nigger he is. The labour is described in very optimistic terms is to help teach inmates skills to find work after their stint in prison with a priority on adjusting their attitude through hard work... But realistically this is an aspect of the punishment. And this is Johnny Somali we're talking about... Koreans don't tolerate lazy bones or work shy delinquents.

If you think about it, and i don't know how bad registered offenders have it in the US, that depends on the state, but if a former inmate can barely get any job with a pay worth their time/labour then it's going to be completely impossible for johny, as a registered SO to find a job, thus the only other avenue is, well, being a nigger online like he always was, and knowing how the US is depending on where he ends up nuisance streaming he'll get away with a LOT more (the noodle spilling, rotten fish in bus and deepfakes, while considered crimes in SK, in the US the prosecutors won't even look at that and just toss the case out from what i've seen)
