That video new story severely downplays what the nig did before crossing into North Korea. It only says he was to "face military discipline after an assault conviction" but the reality:

He is an American and famous. SK does not want the diplomatic hit of an american getting shanked in prison, especially one with this much attention.
He is not going into GenPop. He is very likely going to be in protective custody when not working, and will probably have a guard set to watch and make sure he's not fucked with any way that results in the infirmary.
