Sadly, yeah. Principled lawyers work state defense for people who hate them, for mere pennies. Unscrupulous lawyers work family law and injury defense and are incentivized to be slimy and get paid (just watch billboards on the interstate and see how many ads they put up trying to find any cases they can). Normie lawyers do boring corporate law unless they are for a large pharmaceutical company or something, and then they are constantly defending against drug lawsuits. Try and run your own law firm and you get whatever cases people approach you for, which could be anywhere from boring and shitty to annoying and shitty.

Exactly. If you get in at a big law firm, you will work crazy hours but make lots of money. Do that for a few years and then trade your big law experience for a smaller, slower-paced firm. Work there until you make partner and coast, or open your own practice. Not all lawyers are litigators and the ones who don't do litigation spend most of their time doing boring technical shit, getting paid big bucks to make sure companies follow the law.
