I was either neutral or somewhat opposed to the war before it started, just because I'm tired of us spending gorillions of dollars over in that stupid sandbox. However, it got me to go out and learn a bit more about Iran. After learning more, that government has to go. They are not rational actors who will act in the best interests of their people or themselves, they are a literal Islamic death cult who want to start WW3. I'm convinced that any amount of money they receive from shipping or any financial relief they get will be used to help them continue to develop their nuclear and ICBM programs, with the goal of firing off nukes at whoever they can reach to bring about the 12th Imam. We've certainly set them back, but as long as that government is still in charge, all we've done is kick the can down the road (again). Regardless of the details, which we don't have yet, any deal they agree to is worthless. They are not interested in self-preservation or prosperity, in fact they would actually want to die if it they think it will bring about that prophecy. You can tell by their social media posts and other press releases that they've learned nothing from this, regardless of whatever they're saying behind closed doors. I don't want the US to be the ones to try and rebuild their government (democracy doesn't work for the apes over there), but for the rest of the world, I think anarchy would be preferable than the current Iranian government.

Anyway, I'm not saying that the walls are closing in on BLUMPF or that MAGA is finished or any of that bullshit. I will personally keep voting for MAGA candidates, and I hope they continue to do well and that the pendulum will swing even harder in that direction. They might not be as extreme as the country needs, but it's step in the right direction and I'll take what I can get. Normalizing the current MAGA gives a solid footing from which to push even further, which is what we've seen the left do over time (though thankfully they got overconfident and greedy). That being said, I'd still be disappointed with this operation if it ends with the current Iranian regime pinky swearing that they won't try to get long range ICBMs and nukes any more, and our government believing them.

China has closer relations with Iran and its neighbors (e.g. Pakistan), but has likely been doing some quiet, backdoor diplomacy. China does not want to pay Iran's extortion fees to get its ships through the Strait. Meanwhile, Trump is also saying fuck all about China, which has been directly impacted by this situation. Really makes you thunk.

When the goal was regime change, not getting absolutely obliterated is a victory, a pyrrhic victory, but it still is a win. While Iran survived, not only are they bankrupt and facing hyper inflation, but now they have lots of damage to their infrastructure they need to repair, they rebuild their airforce and navy, they also need to find a better source of hardware because the Chinese shit was absolutely not worth it, and get their leadership sorted out because I am confused who the fuck is even still alive and in charge.
