🌟 Internet Famous Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

Someone had shared that on the subreddit and Linus himself removed it.

It's seemingly been restored.

Still can't mention the jet tracker at the request of Linus' community manager, and there has been other deleted criticism.

The LTT plan situation has gone mainstream; even casuals on Twitter seem to have negative attitudes towards Linus' new golden sink gamer plane.

Its kinda funny that the reason they told people that they had to pump out so much slop and couldn't fact check the videos before they release was because money was so tight. Obviously it wasn't if hes going to spurge a few million on a plane, even if the resellability is high.

I dont even know what Linus wants out of the jet, its not like he can strip out the interior to make it a "hecking epic gaming rgb plane setup" some normie would soy at. At most this is the only video they get out of it since theres not much else to talk about a jet, and it will sit at the hangar until they "need it" which is a stretch. This is just a money sink waiting to happen.

Reminder that this guy was so confident he was hot shit he registered an account here and told us we didn't have insult game anymore.

I enjoy knowing that basically no one I consider intelligent considers Linus's content good anymore. Linus enjoys owning a private jet. Egg on my face, I guess!

Apparently his uncle or whatever is going to be the pilot? Just dragging more family into this nonsense. But that doesn't mean the cost is zero.
I do NOT believe this is going to end well. Usually having family pilots tends to be more dangerous because pilots will become more lax, overlook shit etc. If you look at commercial or private aviation accidents, you will be surprised how much friends and family can be involved in the breakdown of safety.

Also the 900B cannot have a single PIC, so his uncle needs to find someone to be the co-pilot. Is his uncle a certified captain? Or does he just have a certification to fly only in the right seat (copilot). On top of this as well he goes into detail about "oh my uncle wouldn't let me fly on this thing if it was unsafe!!!" only to later go on about how he broke the cargo door because he did not know the actual cargo door was using a powered winch and needed to hook up emergency power to fix it, got his uncle on the phone and all because ALL the flight documents were sitting on a pallet in the cargohold. I absolutely think Linus is going to do dumb shit (despite going on and on about safety) which is going to negatively effect the aircraft.

Also, private pilot wages do not go for cheap. Paying those two pilots has to be year round and is easily 6 figures (150-250k a year at least, each) so you will be guaranteed that money is going to be pulled from elsewhere in the company. Then what about when you do anything beyond the usual weekly checks (C checks usually) or when the maintenance schedule requires replacement of bulkheads, hydraulic line repairs, APU replacement etc. All sorts of stuff which you will need to pay an A&P mechanic to come out and then have someone certified on the aircraft to then approve of.
Its pretty much going to entirely depend on airframe lifespan, isn't it? Private jets aren't really a collectors item the way old prop craft or warplanes are, and there's so few people who could afford to unironically collect them that they're not going to pay a premium to compete with each other over extremely bog standard aircraft like this. The only people who'd be interested in buying it would be aircraft museums who'd 'buy' it for a token price and expect you to write the rest of the value off as a tax credit as a donation to their non-profit arm, or people actually just operating private jets. The latter are just gonna pay based on the expected remaining service life, not some nebulous collectors value. Their clients are gonna want the newest jet that is comfy as fuck, not a 30 year old reno project, so they're not gonna pay out a premium.
Yeah, which ties into the fact that this jet is going to be a money pit. Most people get private jets for business. As Linus said himself (due to price of Jet-A) that the cost of flying the aircraft down wherever they went and back is cheaper than booking first class. People buy these things so they can transit from A to B quicker without the hassle of airport terminals and for a better experience, but also speed. This also requires you to have overseas work. Where is Linus going to fly to? What overseas businesses or duties he has to attend to? I honestly think he is going to pawn it off at some point in a few years when the plane gets like 50 hours of flight time at most and he keeps spending up to a million a year to upkeep it and paying the pilot payrolls to make sure they are around often.

I just see this purchase as nonsensical and a drain to finances because I have no idea how he is going to use it.

He keeps trying to act self-aware while doing shit that makes it clear he’s really not. The backpack warranty thing was the first big one and it just keeps happening. He sees everyone making fun of him so he wants to be in on the joke, but it doesn’t come off the way he thinks it does.

He's going to be taking an very laymans take on safety, and probably get the thing grounded. Pretty much any fuselage modification is a safety concern, even most of the interior. The main body covers protect the plane from the people as much as anything else, the interior mountings aren't something you want to overstrain or just bolt/weld shit randomly too, the entire electrical system is one big "fuck this up and everyone could die" risk. Something as simple as "I poorly mounted a TV bracket" can lead to someone being injured or worse when the aircraft hits some nasty turbulence - Which smaller aircraft and lower flying aircraft tend to 'feel' much harder - and it breaks off and goes bouncing around a cabin. It could injure someone, take out someone or some thing important, or compromise the fuselage.

Its not impossible to do some of the stuff he wants to do, but its practically elite level artisanal skills to do so while keeping airworthy. Hiring firms to do so for you gives an idea of the expense, I'm seeing mid six figure quotes being the ballpark for 'simple' - Which seems to be mostly seating refreshes and upholstery work. Hard to say just how much of that is engineering and certification vs gold plated leather seating.

Honestly, Linus will probably get burned hard on regulation. They'll take it up with some ill advised modification, have an incident, and get the jet grounded by the authorities for an incident investigation, and get fucking reamed for doing something stupid like that. Probably ream the Uncle/Real Pilots too for taking up something with said modification. They take this shit really seriously, because if you shit the bed with a bad modification up in the sky, its not just your problem when you pancake, its also a big problem for whoever the fuck you just landed on.

I think it is probably best to add that he talks about how parts of the aircraft were somewhat not airworthy I.e needing to back off one of the bolts for the overhead panel so as to make it not short out the illumination. Is the fix simple? Yes, but he spent money replacing power supplies for it and also this would still need to be logged down and approved of as an actual fix. That sort of thing is easy. But with the modifications? The aircraft will run a bit higher on the weight when gold plating more of it and just randomly putting shit in, of course Linus cannot account for this because he did not think of it. Either way, I absolutely think that he is probably going to try and cheap out on the repairs which is going to absolutely fuck them (or at worst get them killed) in the long run.

Other major concern in this regard too is if he wants any modifications to the chair system or things like the main door to get in and out of. It is also a total fucking pain to get any modification approved of because you need guidance from the manufacturer (Dassault in this case) to get back to you with their engineers allowing you to give you the go ahead to have it be an approved modification. There is a shitload of paperwork involved in these things, aviation maintenance is a paper first sort of industry with how it operates by law.

I also find it incredibly funny they were flying around during the daytime with the illumination for the overhead panel not working and the thing shorting out. Totally not a fire risk, somehow not on the MEL/MMEL, I wonder what else was likely wrong with this plane considering how cheap it was and clearly being pawned off by the previous owner that Linus did not want to bring up in the video because people would've put him on blast for.

Having the absolute gall to do this right after people quit over low pay is probably the most likable thing Linus has done in a decade. It's just so transparently fucked up and morally bankrupt that it crosses the line in to almost straight villiany. A snaking little twerp will almost always be more dispised than the loud and proud asshole and even if he's trying to wiggle out of judgement the action is so ludicrous it still comes of as knowingly evil while just not giving a shit.

I'm going to buy a A 10 Warthog (prettier than Linus' wife btw) and patrol the US Canadian border.

I have nothing against private jet travel.
If I was rich I would do it too because I don't want to get up and wait in lines for 2-4 hours to sit neck to subhuman creatures that figured out how to EBT stamp their way onto a flight or some bullshit.

That said, I wouldn't brag about my gold plated sink jet and show it off to my fanbase that is nowhere near well off as I was.

The biggest downfall to Linus Tech Tips was when he got rid of a heckin wholesome and independent womxn: Emily. Instead he throws her out like rotten meat to buy a Jet Plane.
