I did one more run, both on my computer and knowing a bit better how the game works:


Specific animals usurp their more generic terms. So the "bison/buffalo" dichotomy works better when you enter that latter as "water buffalo." It's definitely troon autism in that as long as there is a different scientific classification, it will count as a different animal. Occasionally you'll get snark at the end regarding stuff like "dogs vs dingoes." The person who made this is probably super interesting at parties.

Things like THIS pissed me off so much:

and it not only let you name extinct animals, but also hominids for some reason, so I cheesed it and named every dinosaur and hominid ancestor I could think of.

I wasn't 100% sure what a "troonish idiosyncracy" would be in this kind of game but yeah, I see it now. I'm pretty impressed I got so many animals, though I know I missed a bunch (and got a few 'cause of the pedantry like "eeeeh lesser or greater kudu" fuck off but thanks for the free animal)
