I've never heard anyone talk about Sound Transit 3 like it's a good thing. It uses cutting edge train technology from the 1970's, and was the most expensive train every built per foot of track, not including the California trains that were paid for and never built. It went billions over budget and doesn't go to all the places it was promised to go. The construction process of the raised track looks terrible. The neighborhoods the light rail towers over are objectively noisier, uglier, and more accessible by the homeless. The fare enforcement teams are young progressive trannies that don't issue ticket citations to anyone but white people, and coach anyone else how to argue their way around the rules, like a 65 year old black woman saying she's a student under 18. They raised the cost for yearly car tabs where a 2005 Toyota Corolla went from being $50/yr to $300/yr. Voters got pissed and tried to strike back, introducing a voter initiative that would overturn the car tab structure for ST3 and lock it to $30. It passed in a landslide with an overwhelming majority, but the state sued, and a ST3 friendly judge said the voter initiative didn't count and ST3 can still collect all they want.

Have you just never heard of trains having security? It wouldn't cost the state that much to add a cop or two on each train car and bus so you wouldn't have to worry about the weird homeless dudes. Add in some extra rules about like sleeping on public transit being banned and things of that nature and the problem is mostly solved.
