I saw her on Rogan about 5 years ago and she seemed utterly full of shit. Her atrocity stories were on par with some of the least believable Holocaust lies that some people still believe to this day. I looked into that topic around that time and it seemed to me that the "defectors" never actually had a hard time crossing the border and they were simply put into reeducation camps in South Korea for a while and taken over by American NGOs to spread anti-NK propaganda. She looks like an alien with all the plastic surgery and bolt-on tits. Makes me wonder where she got the money to do this after she allegedly fled her country like she was walking on hot coals.

Watch some content and make up your own mind. My own opinion is Yeonmi is a fake KCIA shill, but I'm sure there are others who have actually crossed over. There are instances of some going back though.

Regarding Yeonmi herself.

At the end of the day though, all governments have to try to justify their control. So while you believe North Koreans are propagandized, and they are, so are you. My opinion on sensationalist news stories regarding things like "executed for watching a foreign show" or "having the wrong haircut" is straight up propaganda. It is true that they do keep tight control on who enters the nation, what they can do while visiting, and overall limit outside media from trying to influence the population.

This cycle of citations continues until you find the original which will have no source at all.
