Man, the next time the Dems get someone into the Oval Office, what're they even going to do? There's not going to be any foreign dictatorial regimes to suck the dicks of, there's not going to be any narcostates to dump arms on, there's not going to be any enemies of america left to import en mass. They're not going to have a UN to tell them who to worship, they're not going to have forever wars to launder humanitarian aid through, they're not going to have shit. They'll actually have to govern domestically instead of fearmongering, and that assumes that Trump doesn't say fuck it and take radical action domestically as well.

Its not that they can't try to fuck up new things to then preside over managing the ruins, more that the people who knew how to balance that to avoid true disaster are long since out of the party in favor of the ideologs. The people who set up this careful board last time are gone, and the new people don't know how to recreate it. Instead of quasi-stable disasters, they're just going to actually collapse things.

Who actually is enticed by this type of rhetoric? It's just so lame. "Oh, boohoo, are we just going to go in, bomb a country, receive 0 casualties, and get the natural resources? Who benefits? Are we just going to let Trump keep getting away with winning wars?" *sad single tear rolls down face*

Between the regular posters over there, and the lies spread about this thread thanks to them, there's no point in honestly engaging with them. Just point and laugh.

I'm not a huge politics general lurker, I tend to stick to the games section. The only reason I found out about them today was because I saw the active threads list and thought I'd post in their threads. It truly is like a wasp nest in there lol

How do you "legalize" a war? Don't you need Congress' approval to initiate war in the US anyway? Therefore, if the POTUS gets that, it's "legal." A lot of stuff is illegal, people still do it.

Iran’s own figures state 95% Shia, but that’s imposed by an authoritarian dictatorship.

Regardless, they were historically filthy casuals in worshipfulness, hence all the classic pictures of Iranians looking like normal people. So, there’s an untested variable here, of how deeply Shia they are, and for at least my own entire life there has been constant pushback. Like I remember a story from the late eighties or early nineties that a lot of Iranian teenagers were getting in trouble for wearing Metallica t shirts and things like that.

So aside from even the issue of the depth of their religiosity is a lifetime’s worth of knowing they aren’t content to be oppressed into robe-wearing servility like some isis slaves
