A) Hello, frens. I'm back after being dead all week. I'm sure everyone noticed my absence. Anyway....

B) I can make a credible argument that the Duke lacrosse case was the proto-Gamergate. It was a truly red-pilling moment for many people about the power of the feminist / SJW / woke / Democratic mob establishment to destroy the lives of anyone they target at will and that it was possible to fight back against the shrieking harpies/ Nancy Graces and power-mad politicians (Durham Co. prosecuting attorney Mike Nifong) of this country. I was very happy that those boys actually won; that that rat-bastard Nifong was disbarred and disgraced for his misconduct during the whole thing; that the NC AG did something highly irregular (in the legal field) in the case's aftermath by declaring that the boys were actually INNOCENT of the charges against them, as opposed to just not guilty; and that Nancy Grace was never looked at the same way ever again. I'm still pissed, however, that no real consequences were ever meted out to the Gang of 88, Duke professors and administrators that signed an open letter denouncing the team and essentially stating that the boys were all guilty, and demanding their expulsion and life ruination.

Think of all possible injustices that might have been swept under the rug but for that huge W in the cultural war for the soul of the nation—Nick Sandmann, Kyle Rittenhouse, and others I'm forgetting.

For further reading about that crazy case, K.C. Johnson's excellent blog Durham-In-Wonderland is still online. Here's also a vidrel from 2014.

Better than that meme medical vans that get blown up.

It happened again
Apparently a NAFO Donated Ambulance got it's shit pushed in on Aug. 25th by something with a huge fragmentation radius, Some are speculating the culprit was a Tornado-S MLRS. Oleksii "Ukrop" Sydorenko is claimed to have died in it, presumably as a crew member. Donated ambulances from at least this clique of NAFO have been lost or destroyed at least 5 times according to them.

Maybe the crew survivability would be a little higher if they weren't painted bright fucking yellow, have time to put on gay ass stickers but can't be assed to repaint the thing. Won't stop it being turned into scrap steel by Tornado-S but fuck me literally any earth tone color would be better.

they say Fullerton, or Santa Ana, or Long Beach, or Irvine or Riverside just hear LOS ANGELES
Don't you lump me in with those retards. They are in the greater Los Angeles area, but when I hear most of those names I think of Orange County, not LA. Those areas are distinct and a lot better than the retardation of LA proper. It's why OC is one of the areas that is getting raped by Newsom's gerrymander plan.

Bought a 5060 Ti and 32 gigs of RAM literally a month before the supply crunch. Had me feeling like I was on the last chopper out of Saigon.
I had to bite the bullet, needed to change the motherboard and the the ones they had are for DDR5 ram cards, not DDR4 which I had in my old machine.

so if shit kicks off in Iran expect global oil prices to SKYROCKET
Issue is if they close the straight they're gonna have issues with gulf states. I dont think UAE will be to happy.

I'd say that was a cruel prank, but he was a pedo
Honestly it is a pretty good prank. You prank the pedo by freeing him then going JK and arresting him again. You also prank the community at large by making them think the state is absolutely retarded and accidentally freed a predator. Just wait for their next prank where they give him a light sentence then actually let him go early for good behavior, that's a popular one.

there was a fleet of trapped ships in the suez for the whole duration. The crews had to stay on board so they could not be taken as salvage. The ships were colloquially known as the "yellow fleet" because 8 years of desert wind laden with sand stripped the paint off and turned them yellow. The ship's crews called their fleet the "Great Bitter Lake association". they tied their ships together in the lake. They raced lifeboats around the ships in their own Olympic games. They made their own postage stamps to send out mail and the Egyptian government accepted them as valid.

Claude’s Sonnet (3.7) model is one of the few that won’t fuck you to protect itself/serve the mission. The newer model would but not as often as most others.
The problem isn't the model, it's the guardrails, i.e. the text Claude injects into the context window to prevent the AI from doing things they've decided AI shouldn't be allowed to do. The military rightly expects to have full control over technology it uses. Imagine if Lockheed tried to put region lockout chips in the F-35 to have final say over where it can fly sorties. It could be for a good cause! They could say, "Oh, we're just not going to allow the F-35 to fly sorties against American civilians." The military would tell them to get fucked and take the contract away, because Lockheed gets no veto power over US warmaking & missions. Same with Anthropic. They're not in charge. They don't get a say.
