There are cases where a company hits it big like say they make a blockbuster drug, rather than take that money and reinvest in RD, they wanna skip that shit and just buy another company to get their drug.

Having big companies go on studio buying sprees is soo annoying. Microsoft could just spool up a studio and tell them make a Game, and let them make the game.

the Ellison’s have Paramount(let’s be real, skydance is worthless brand with nothing worthwhile under their belts) and Paramount has CBS, one of the four networks. By law, a company can’t own more than one, which is why Disney couldn’t buy Fox the network since they already owned ABC. This merger would give them all of Warner Discovery, which in theory would make their content collection the largest in the world and competitive with Disney proper, but I highly doubt David Ellison knows how to do anything properly.

Yes I m aware and again I would argue that disney shoulda never been allowed to own a network tv studio.

The idea of vertical integration sounds great but again a utility company doesnt know how to run a entertainment company.

Personally rather "content libraries" get regulated to some system where the incentive to own everything on your own service is reduced. Just like how production companies could sell shows to local afilities for syndication, have a streaming license do the same thing.

I watched som youtuber schulb talk about how tv production went fucking crazy in 2016/17 because tech money came in and basically valued growth at all costs it doesnt matter if the show is economical or good, then DEI shit it.

As someone said in ether this thread or that other one about this topic netflixs break out show is over and basically has a character screaming "I m gay"

Not taking the threat of the Japanese seriously made the first half of the war in the Pacific painful for the US. I don't like to assume too much, but there's plenty of data that doesn't require us to assume. Chinese spies and saboteurs are routinely caught because they're dumb as hell. I know that you don't catch the guys you don't catch, but there's retards just walking through the airport with foreign pathogens wrapped up in paper towels and such. Not too many agents get caught slipping after X many years who weren't sitting pretty under Democrat protection the whole time.

The only thing I care about in this whole Warner Bros. acquisition is how it will affect Sonic the Hedgehog 4. I surely do hope it doesn't affect it, I KNOW my baddie Blaze is gonna be in that bitch so I'd be pissed if DC & fucking Looney Tunes causes Sonic 4 to be cancelled.

Most companies are shit because of this. So tired of this being "economically smart" it really isn't. It makes all the wrong decisions happen. Its why everything is enshittified.
