I still recall a magazine article years ago that showed how all of Mexico is controlled by the various drug cartels with color coded hash fills denoting which cartel controlled what area. As unpopular as it may be with activists, the country is a shithole regarding the drug-related violence and corruption.

As much as I want to agree with the latter part, the cartels likely see this is little more than a temporary setback and they will be back to regular operations sooner rather than later.
