Law enforcement officers, if viewed as ordained by God as his servants to bear the sword and punish wrongdoing, are required to place themselves in harm's way to uphold order and protect the innocent. That being said, Ezekiel 45:9 says "put away violence and oppression, and execute justice and righteousness", while the empathy for these people has been long, long LONG, exhausted in our broken world, and many such cases of people resisting arrest being shot amount to no great loss in the grand scheme, I still believe we should desire our officers to avoid premature or excessive force whenever possible. God calls for us to minimize harm where we can. "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone" Romans 12:18.

In this case, once a gun discharged and officers were legitimately spooked for their lives, their response was understandable and aligned with duty to preserve order.

However, we aren't called to view human life with indifference. We are called to uphold the principles of justice and temper our actions with mercy. I don't disagree with your take on this instance, but I felt the need to point out that resisting arrest, in general, doesn't always justify being shot.

You'd have a point if there were no groups of these people assaulting and harassing these officers. At that point everyone becomes a threat. And now that they're bringing guns with them, they're all possible deadly threats. So you're constantly worried about who may pull a gun on you.

This protest was a little over a decade ago (fuck I'm getting old) where a rancher believed he had his cattle unjustly seized by BLM and the Feds.

Apparently, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) has a rocky relationship with ranchers and many headed the call for help. They walked up to the cattle corral and it could be argued that they interfered with the Feds.

Let's be honest, both situations are fucked up. But in Minneapolis, on something seriously wrong happened be it the Sig misfiring, the agent panicking, etc.
