A&N is an echo chamber where the local culture is to never argue about anything, but unify around whatever opinion is viral on their twitter feeds, and if anyone posts hard data that contradicts whatever lie they fell for that day, those people get heckled and insulted until they stop posting. The locals do not try to back their position with arguments or data, but mindlessly repeat the party line over and over while flinging insults until the other side goes away. As a result it is impossible to discuss anything in A&N. You get actively worse informed by reading it, since people there will knowingly or indifferently post false information. Their positions and "principles" change from day to day and sometimes hour to hour, as their only standard is to be aligned with whatever MAGA is doing or saying right this second. They make even third party discussion impossible by flooding threads with garbage posts, for example in the Epstein files thread.
The average user there doesn't see kiwifarms as a forum for sharing and discussion information, but as a redoubt for sharing comforting words and preparing for the next battle of the culture war. Dissenters are seen as enemy invaders, which is why they endlessly negrate like they're on reddit, and engage in bad faith 100% of the time. You will never see fact based discussion there. It's nothing but "praise be to Trump, if you disagree you have TDS and are brown". Victory is not when you have the best arguments, but when the other side stops speaking.

The vitriol you see in the discussion of these topics on this site is 100% caused by the MAGA side. The animosity they get is responsive, and only a tiny fraction of what they pour out themselves.

If anything it seems somewhat to the left with lots of leftypol types descending upon A&N threads which traditionally are a rightwing stronghold to gloat about Charlie Kirk's assassination and arguing for Karen's right to run over ICE agents. Plus there are multiple active antiTrump threads and right wing figures are readily given a lolcow thread.

That's because it was already right leaning.
Back in 2013 or so this site was pretty leftist. That's when I lurked (I considered myself a fascist at the time). People would justify doxing and mocking various lolcows because they're "racist, sexist, annoying" and so on. Chris Chan was made fun of because he's said some cringe feisty shit.
The shift to the right happened after troons started to go after the site (in my opinion) but it's hard to say.

The title is pretty inaccurate.
Back then, no user ever thought it was necessary to spam my profile with garbage or mass tag 16 users to start infighting over some stupid political disagreement. People who did this kind of shit would be banned on the spot. Users who whined about stickers would be mocked.
It was possible to sperg about something political in one thread and then go back to a lolcow thread to make fun of the cow together. Now you'll get users following you to another on-topic thread just to whine and seethe.
That's the shift, it's not political. It's how users behave.
That's why we call them the SJWs of the right. SJWs will enter a community and immediately stir shit. They'll demand people to behave a certain way, or else they're fascist Nazi racists (TDS communist NPCs).

Here's an example that's gonna make me sound like a faggot:
One was political in nature: Nick Fuentes pepperspraying some Jewish granny catlady.
Instead of laughing at the absurdity of the situation, a few started to fight over whether it was justified or not. He was charged so the answer is no. This would not have happened in 2020.
The other was a Twitch grifter getting sexually assaulted at twitchcon.
It immediately turned into gender wars bullshit. This was surprising.

Like it or not this makes the threads unreadable and ruins the experience for everyone.

That's what made me do a slow side-switch. That and other things IRL, but DKF was a big big factor.

Also having a strident debate IRL with an old friend about if anyone should host the Christchurch video.
