We had some good discussion on the subject of reading education here although I think the thread's run its course; I imagine Hillary Layne's video is probably where a lot of people are getting the "critical literacy" thing from. I'm not personally very aware of educational trends and I found her video rather shocking, and it was good hearing others' recent educational experiences.
