2025 US and Venezuela Conflict - Operation Just Cause 2: 2 Just 2 Cause

An unintended side-effect of Maduro's capture and arrest is that India, long-time procurer of Russian arms (specifically the S400s), now has more of an incentive to abandon Russian arms in favour of American counterparts. As I understand it: the S400 was basically what kept India coming back to Russia because those systems are used on India's high-altitude borders against China. With both Maduro's arrest and the previous upset Pakistan had where they managed to beat past the S400s in the recent skirmish they had, Russian arms are becoming noticeably less appealing. Remains to be seen whether or not India will actually abandon Russia altogether because they're still buying an assload of oil from them. Who knows? On the one hand, Russia loses a big weapons partner, on the other hand, New Delhi's patronage of Moscow is also meant to curtail Moscow's reliance on Beijing.

btw, american and european libtards think Venezuela is better under Maduro when venezuelans had to spend this much on one whole chicken

"I am the president of Venezuela and I consider myself a prisoner of war. They captured me in my house in Caracas," Maduro declared.

Maduro declares himself INNOCENT in the case of narcoterrorism in the USA.

"I am innocent. I am a decent man. I am the president."

US taxpayer paying 12 million just to have a pedophile-in-chief shit in it
What's your fucking point?
Making you mad
Saddam was USA plant that got put in and removed from power. Relying on whims of whatever senile lunatic currently rules is insane.

I will give it this.

While I think the shit in Venezuela will turn into a retarded shit show that will bite America in the ass, and so on. At least my cold Western European heart can take solace in the fact that Russian equipment is again shown to be shit, the weapons are shit, and if the rumors that he had Wagner Mercs as guards and they were slaughtered like the gay cunts they are. That makes me a bit happy.

Coming up next: Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay, Cuba 👀

Looks like I tuned in just in time for the best seethe. Chile ended moments ago, Brazil has started whining
Fuck those guys.
I want to know what Argentina and El Salvador think.

So short answer yes but no.

India's defense procurement looks like an autistic mishmash of Russian, domestic indigenous, European (especially French) and even some US and Israeli gear sprinkled in.
India is likely to continue to move away from Russian gear, yes, but more because India is trying (emphasis on trying) to move away from foreign gear overall.

Also, for what it's worth, to be fair to S-400, the S-400 is intended as a long-range SAM system to hit high-flying subsonic or low supersonic maneuvering targets (i.e. AWACS, air superiority fighters, etc., with some capability against ballistic missiles). It's far from 1:1 comparison but if I had to pick a US counter-part I'd say it's closer to RIM-174.
S-300VM is a specialized anti-ballistic missile with some capability against maneuvering targets. It's more (albeit not perfectly) analogous to the more ABM-optimized variants of the MIM-104 Patriot missile.

So to be entirely fair, we don't actually know that either haven't in this case (Ukraine, Iran and Armenia not withstanding) been proven useless. S-400 was not on trial, S-300VM was. S-300VM was made to hit high altitude missiles, not deal with subsonic cruise missiles, stealth fighters and helicopters flying nap-of-the-earth.

I will give it this.

His guards were allegedly Cubans.

That being said we don't know if they died in a shootout or airstrike; though ideally the best operation is one where the guys on the ground never fire their rifle.

I haven't heard anything about (what's left of) Wagner allegedly protecting him.

This is a mind numbing attempt at nation building with public support only being aired by state media. Overthrowing Venezuela does nothing immediately effectual in the sense of geopolitics outside of encouraging China to take Taiwan during the Spring of either this year or next. The amount of infrastructure investment it would take to get any sort of oil is over $100 billion and would take 5 years to see results. The only positive results I can see as of Monday is an artificial stock pump into military under the false hopes that our country continues being retarded getting high off of tax payer dollars burning inside the MIC engine. Enjoy all the immigration you voted for MIGA.

I won't deny the possibility of shit going horribly, horribly wrong for America in Venezuela. Having said that: Monroe Doctrine's been the law of the Western Hemisphere since almost the beginning. For better or worse, foreign intervention is something that allowed America to gain its independence from Britain (don't forget to thank the French).

Thomas Jefferson literally waged war against Libyan pirates during the Barbary Wars, but one could argue that Libyan pirates of the time were a problem for European powers to resolve... and despite the British navy being the most powerful at the time, the Barbary Coast was a lawless no-man's land until America won the Barbary Wars. Post-Barbary Wars, the Mediterranean was once again safe for merchant and naval ships to transit through.

For all the venom that Monroe Doctrine receives nowadays, that policy is what ultimately allows for America to remain uncontested as the sole hegemon of the Western Hemisphere. You can't just allow ambivalent to outright hostile parties to operate in waters and lands that are a proverbial stone's throw away from your country's heartland, especially when you're a fledgling power who broke away from a colonial behemoth like Britain. Yeah, America's not a fledgling confederation of ex-colonies like it was at the turn of the 19th century. We all know this keenly well, but the calculus behind Monroe Doctrine still remains timeless to the present day.

Roosevelt Corollary didn't emerge in a vacuum. You could argue that Teddy Roosevelt's exact rhetoric was repugnant, but there is a valid reason for America to intervene in Latin America's affairs if Washington catches wind of anything that would disrupt social order, and thus have a downstream impact on the USA. It was Roosevelt Corollary that allowed America to be much more aggressive during the Cuban Missile Crisis, instead of capitulating to Soviet pressure. Speaking of the Cuban Missile Crisis, let's talk about Cuba for a little bit.

Cuba is a tiny little island, geographically and in absolute population terms. Y'know what Cuba ain't? Insignificant. Cuba is perhaps the most consequential nation in Latin America precisely because they successfully overthrew a US-backed military dictator in Fulgencio Batista and consistently managed to thwart CIA plots to assassinate Castro for decades. Cuba's responsible for exporting Marxist revolutionary rhetoric all throughout Latin America. Venezuela bought into that hook, line, and sinker to the point where Cuba's had disproportionate influence over Venezuelan politics for decades. Cuba's the one who exported leftist revolutionaries in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, among others. The banana republics of the mid-20th century weren't just meant to line Dole's pockets; those banana republics were run by anti-communist military dictators who purged Cuban revolutionaries.

In the modern period, we've abided by a "good neighbour" policy for however many years. The problem is that America being a good neighbour doesn't immediately translate to countries like Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, or Cuba following in our stead and becoming good neighbours as well. Canada's hollowed out its own economy to mass migration as a reaction against Trump's hostile rhetoric to the free movement of capital and people across borders, such that illegal immigration into the USA via Canada is a known method. Mexico's always flip-flopped on how closely they wanna align with Washington, but they've flipped to such a catastrophic extent that drug cartels and human traffickers run roughshod everywhere else in the country. Venezuela expropriated infrastructure that Exxon built like 20 years ago, and Caracas just gave free oil to their overseers in Cuba while funding drug trafficking with oil revenues coming from countries hostile to the USA. Yeah, Trump reneged on the Cuban Thaw that Obama started... but was the Cuban thaw really justified if Havana was getting free oil made by technology and infrastructure that the USA paid for? And how Havana still gave dirt cheap leftover oil from Caracas to Moscow and Beijing?

Yeah, I'm not happy about the current state of affairs here in our corner of the world. Having said that... I'm still inclined to give Trump 47 the benefit of the doubt precisely because he's actually doing something about Venezuela instead of posturing, sanctioning, and bemoaning like every past administration since Dubya did. Pleasantries about the "rules-based international order" are all well and good until they prove toothless in the face of belligerents who have no intent to play ball.

Última edición:
(Ukraine, Iran and Armenia not withstanding)
They are, though, as far as the arms market's concerned. It's going to be interesting to see what happens.

It is far from conclusive but I think the picture of the bodyguards tells me they were in too few pieces for a heavy airstrike.
