5 Myths About Gender Diversity—And The Truth Behind Them

In today’s political climate, gender diversity has become one of the most hotly debated—and misunderstood—topics. Politicians are using fear-driven narratives to target transgender and nonbinary people, especially youth, with harmful legislation. We hear the same tired arguments over and over, presented as “truth,” when they are nothing more than myths.

It’s time to set the record straight. Here are 5 common myths about gender diversity—and the truth behind them.

Myth #1: Gender Diversity Is a “New Trend.”

The Truth: Gender diversity has existed throughout human history.

Indigenous cultures across North America have recognized Two-Spirit people for centuries. Ancient societies—from Mesopotamia to Greece—acknowledged individuals who lived outside of binary gender roles. What’s new is not gender diversity—it’s the political and cultural backlash against it.

When lawmakers claim that being transgender or nonbinary is a “fad,” they are ignoring thousands of years of human history and the countless lives that prove otherwise.

Myth #2: There Are Only Two Genders Because “God Made Male and Female.”

The Truth: The Bible never says gender is limited to two boxes.

Genesis 1:27 is not a scientific statement about biology—it’s poetry about the beauty and diversity of creation. Just as day and night include sunrises and sunsets, “male and female” are not the only possibilities. God’s image is expansive and infinite. Gender diversity is part of that divine creativity.

The real question isn’t “What does the Bible say about gender?” but “What does the Bible say about love?” And the answer is always, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Myth #3: Transgender People Are “Confused” or “Just Going Through a Phase.”

The Truth: Being transgender or nonbinary is not confusion—it’s clarity.

Transgender people often spend years discovering and understanding who they are, despite intense social pressure to conform. Affirming someone’s identity is not indulging a “phase.” It’s recognizing their truth.

Studies show that when trans youth are affirmed, their mental health improves dramatically. When they are rejected or forced to hide, their risk of depression and suicide skyrockets.

Myth #4: Talking About Gender Confuses or “Influences” Kids.

The Truth: Conversations about gender create empathy, not confusion.

Children notice differences around them—hair color, family structures, gender expressions. When we talk about these differences with honesty and kindness, kids learn to respect and value others. Teaching about gender diversity does not “make” kids transgender—it simply helps them understand the world they live in.

The real harm comes from silence, fear, and shame.

Myth #5: Gender-Affirming Care Is Dangerous.

The Truth: Every major medical and psychological association supports gender-affirming care.

From the American Academy of Pediatrics to the American Medical Association, the consensus is clear: gender-affirming care—when guided by qualified professionals—is safe, effective, and often life-saving.

Bans on this care are not about safety. They’re about control. And they are causing real harm to transgender youth and their families.

The Bigger Picture

These myths are not just misunderstandings. They are being deliberately weaponized by politicians and extremist groups to fuel fear and division. But here’s the truth that cannot be erased: gender diversity is natural, it is human, and it is worthy of love.

When we lead with compassion, education, and open hearts, we replace harmful myths with life-giving truth.

Some random injun tribes recognizing a third gender is extremely unimportant. Also, ancient Greece and Mesopotamia had strict gender roles, as did any functioning society throughout most of human history, and did not have transgenders. The successors of Roman emperor Heliogabalus called him a tranny in order to desecrate his legacy.

The whole two spirit shtick is the same to pakis arguing raping children is not gay. It's just cultural grooming.

And another faggot rolls out the same disproven bullshit that they've argued for years.
How about trying something new and just fucking off and dying on a different hill....

I want to see the next insidious religion existing to criminalize basic facts about ourselves this proud dad with a blog finds irresistible, if only to see if Penn Jillette is there with him.

Of all the aLLIEs whose hard drives need to be seized and checked, this guy's needs to be seized and checked the most.

Indigenous cultures used to sacrifice children to their sun Gods as well.

Most of those "third gender" roles were for gay men who these wildly sexist tribes didn't consider "real men", so they called them something else. In tribes where there was more equality between the sexes (eg the Apaches who were at war so much that everybody had to know how to do the basics of everyone else's job), there wasn't such a thing. You just got men and women and they didn't give a fuck about their roles outside of actual reproduction. This article's been around for over 12 years now but it's still a good explanation. I mean, if this guy wants to call gays failed men and confined women to servitude unless they cut their tits off, that's his belief, but it doesn't sound very progressive of him.

a lot of the articles posted to A&N are ai generated, and it makes me wonder how much of the content was even in the author's original prompt. do they just type "give me a point list about rumours and myths about gay people" or like... what goes on there? is it even worth reading?

Myth #6
I don't care, Troons are a bunch of perverts who should kill themselves immediately and pooners need serious counselling to fix their childhood abuse, and doctors shouldn't be permitted to let anyone alter their body until they are 18.

Oh wait, that one is true.

The Truth: Gender diversity has existed throughout human history.
Yes, but it has never been accepted as an absolute "truth". What has only been recently called "gender diversity" was in the past called "you're a fucking lunatic and we were right to keep it to tell you to keep it to yourselves and especially away from kids."
The Truth: The Bible never says gender is limited to two boxes.
Absence of something like "gender" from The Bible or any other context doesn't make it not lunacy. The concept of gender is, and I dare any one of these gender lunatics to deny it, rooted in relativity to sex. If it weren't, then the same lunatics wouldn't be so caught up in telling people how "gender" works with characteristics specifically attributed to sex. That, I think, is missing from the conversations that let this shit get out of hand: if gender can be separated from sex, then gender shouldn't rely so heavily on the things that we attribute almost exclusively to sex.

The Truth: Being transgender or nonbinary is not confusion—it’s clarity.
Clarity that you're a crazy person and a dingus, perhaps. If your clarity says that your body needs to be changed to fit something in your head that is unknowable to anyone else and unprovable with empirical evidence, I daresay that your definition of "clarity" is flawed to all fuck.
The Truth: Conversations about gender create empathy, not confusion.
Whatever you say, mac. If there's something I truly hate about the political/social philosophy that demands peace and love or else, it's that their definitions are arbitrary. Oh, we have all the empathy because this is something we like and prefer. It isn't empathetic to extend the same courtesy to people who, lacking any belief that there is substance in the claims towards being "gender diverse", don't believe in it, and might actually have good reason, because of course it isn't. It is only empathetic to believe you, despite the evidence of their eyes and ears.

And these people tell their political/social opposition that 1984 isn't an instruction manual in that haughty way that insist they aren't the ones doing that in the first place.
The Truth: Every major medical and psychological association supports gender-affirming care.
Medicines of certain eras have all fucked up over the years. It isn't exactly that long ago that lobotomies were considered good for the human condition.

I might not be a doctor, but there are things that I've observed about the whole "gender-affirming" movement that it seems to me stand in opposition to what has been considered, for the entirety of the human race, a healthy psychological state of being. And if "gender-affirming care" needs the support of everyone around your precious "gender diverse" snowflake or else your precious snowflake will off itself, I'm going to tell you that I don't care that "every" medical establishment supports this. They're fucking wrong.

I love it how the lefties will pokerface the opposite of the truth.

1. Gender Diversity is a new trend, it emerged on tublr about a decade ago. Queer theory has been around for a while (late 70's?), but it's something else. Basically the idea there is that everyone's born bi-sexual and the patriarchy enforces the gender binary roles (not identity). I don't think they understand Queer theory either.
2. The bible is very clear on what came first: man. Then, woman. There is no mention of other genders and homosexuality is repeatedly condemned.
3. Transgender people are confused. Many of them detransition.
4. Talking about gender around pre-pubescent kids not only confuses them, it's child abuse.
5. Gender-affirming care is dangerous, because it treats a symptom and not the cause. See point 3.

You can tell that ChatGPT clearly wrote this. That's fucking hilarious. They need to use a robot to even approach sounding like a normal person with a hint of pleasantness to them.

I couldn't imagine being so in denial that I have to use AI to not sound like a miserable, mentally deranged cunt (while also thinking that everyone else is the problem).

The whole two spirit shtick is the same to pakis arguing raping children is not gay. It's just cultural grooming.
Oh, many of them point to the instances of pederasty in ancient Greece to justify their current pederasty.

What is that fallacy? Appeal to primitive, homosexual, tribal authority?
When we talk about these differences with honesty and kindness, kids learn to respect and value others.
Wrong. When we talk with honesty about what trannies actually do to themselves and to others, they get violent and kids learn to correctly distrust and despise them. That's why there is absolutely no honest debate anywhere about transgenderism and gender identity. They can't and won't allow it.

From the American Academy of Pediatrics to the American Medical Association, the consensus is clear: gender-affirming care—when guided by qualified professionals—is safe, effective, and often life-saving.
Ehem... they still, to this very fucking day, cite John Money.
