Hello, I wanted to share some upcoming video games that should have a release in 2026 that I am excited for. I would also like to hear some of the games you guys are excited for.
- ONTOS (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2924520/ONTOS/)
A new horror game from the creators of SOMA (one of my favourite games/pieces of media ever) and Amnesia. I like that after the success of Amnesia: The Bunker they did not decide to just make another one and decided to make an entirely different i.p., and tbh after Amnesia: Rebirth they were kinda falling out of favour for me but Amnesia: The Bunker was such a phenomenal game that I have high hopes for ONTOS. - Valor Mortis (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2828710/Valor_Mortis/)
Described by the developers as a soulslike (don't roll your eyes yet) with a first person perspective, made by the people that made Ghostrunner, the game is set in a fantasy Napoleonic wartime, which to me is a really interesting setting and I don't think I have ever played or seen a non-rts game be set there. I liked Ghostrunner mechanically but I don't really care for the cyberpunk scene and I have yet to play Ghostrunner 2, nevertheless, this game looks really cool and gritty.
- Crisol: Theater of Idols (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1790930/Crisol_Theater_of_Idols/)
It does not explicitly say that this game releases in 2026, but after looking it up, it was supposed to be released in 2025 and then got pushed back to early 2026. Don't really have much to say about this one except that it looks really cool, the steampunkish/biomechanical aesthetic is dope and I'm a sucker for FPS horror games.
- Resident Evil Requiem (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3764200/Resident_Evil_Requiem/)
I really like the new Resident Evils, I consider Resident Evil 7 to be one of the best FPS horror games out there (until you get to the ship level at least). I liked 8 even though I know it was kinda not received well. Fingers crossed they don't get high off of their farts and mess up this one.
- Crimson Desert (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3321460/Crimson_Desert/)
Don't really have background on this game too, never played black desert online. But from the gameplay trailers and everything else I have seen, it is shaping up to be a very good game, I've been craving an open world fantasy rpg, dragon's dogma 2 was supposed to scratch that itch for me but I didn't even attempt to give it a go due to all of the performance issues I read on every review and that it also doesn't really solve the gameplay problems that I had with its predeccessor. I really hope this game delivers.
