They intend to build at least 20 of these things.

It looks to be a cross between the existing San Antonio class LPD and future DDG(X), which itself is a combination of flight 3 Arleigh-Burkes and Zumwalt class destroyers. They shouldn't run into novel issues like they did with the Zumwalt since all these systems are already existing, save for the railgun afaik. Hopefully there's not too much scope creep between now and 2050

When the Nigger Lives Matter riots happened, the House was controlled by Democrats and had already impeached him once. Mitch McConnell and the Cuckservative Caucus in the Senate were desperate to find an excuse to remove Trump from office that wouldn't amount to party suicide. When Trump tweeted out "when the looting starts, the shooting starts," the Cuckservative Caucus told Trump that they would regard this as a lawless act.

Translation: if Trump had done anything like you think he should have done, he would have been expelled from office within 48 hours. The whole point of the riots was to box him in. If he didn't do anything, absolute mongoloid retards like you would think he was weak and be mad. But if he did something serious, he'd be impeached & removed from office.

This was the story all four years. The first two years, he was boxed in by Mueller, with Ryan, Gowdy, and McConnell openly saying in so many words that stopping Mueller meant getting impeached & removed. Then, of course, the Democrats took charge, absolutely thrilling the groyper-right idiots, and started impeachment proceedings almost immediately.

Now, I've dealt with alt-right/groyper lunatics like yourself to know that your answer is something stupid like, "Then he should have just done the right thing and gotten removed from office!" Like that is in any way a viable option--but then, the one thing the alt-right, libertarians, and cuckservatives have in common is they love losing. Nothing lets everyone know how principled you are like taking it on the chin in another crushing defeat.

The reason I support Trump is he's there to win, not go down with the ship like the crying faggot you are and wish he was. If Trump had governed like the groyp-right thinks is reasonable, his term would have lasted 18 months, and we'd be in the 2nd term of whomever beat Mike Pence in 2020.

Instead, Trump survived four straight years of a goverment full of his enemies trying to ruin him, purged the GOP, staged the biggest political comeback of all time, and is now deporting Hondurans, dropping bombs on Venezuelans, and choking the H-1b program to death, all things you and the groyp-right cry about because he hasn't nuked Tel Aviv and written an EO abolishing negro citizenship.

Yeah, I don't give a shit about all of the excuses, and I have heard them all before. I didn't vote for him to try his best, I voted for results, and he did not deliver for 4 years. He isn't on his first year, he is on his fifth, despite everyone wanting me to forget that this is Trump's second shot at this. I also don't care about being told that it is unreasonable to expect the results I voted for, or that I am some kind of heckin meanie extremist for holding the president accountable for his failures. So yeah, its a Battleship. Called it. They are calling it the "Trump Class" but the lead ship is going to be USS Defiant, assuming she gets built.

I am screeching. On the one hand, its rule of cool made manifest. Cool Name, Cool aesthetics, its a FUCKING BATTLESHIP, but at the same time modern warfare is extremely unkind to large centralized targets. It would be better to put all the missiles on the one battleship on 10 Corvettes instead and scatter them over hundreds of square kilometers of ocean. At the end of the day, the goal isn't to have the biggest ship, its to get the most firepower downrange and on target and this is the big issue with Battleships. They are massive concentrated force in one place, yes, but that also makes them a target and a catastrophic loss if they are hit.

Now here me out here for a second, but I still think this is a good idea. There is the concept of the "Wubby" in military doctrine. Which is essentially a symbolic piece of military hardware that doesn't do anything militarily useful but damn is it good for morale, and also a potential morale damager to the enemy. These sorts of ships would serve that role admirably. So long as the corvette and frigate fleet is expanded to support these white Elephants, they actually could form a very useful core of a fleet action. Not just as a "flagship" but also as a convenient bullet sponge, drawing fire away from the ships that are actually important to mission success.

The thing I'm most interested about is the rail guns. I know the Navy did a lot of work on those and afaik they never got them functional. I know they've had C-130 mounted lasers that could disable a truck engine, so I believe they could have functional ones on a near future ship, but while I know they fired slugs out of a static test cannon, I don't believe they ever had one that could fire in a practical test set up.

Yeah, but you have to build 10 ships first. Let the navy just try building one ship first. Let it be big and mighty. If American ship building is degraded, might as well put all out resources into one big shop we'll finish vs a project of a bazillion ships we won't
