Ah yes, the early Roman Empire was so heavily infiltrated by Jews that Ancient Roman AIPAC pushed a most unwilling Trajan & Hadrian into...obliterating the Egyptian Jewish & Bar Kokhba revolts, killing probably a million+ Jews within two decades in total, expelling Jews from Judaea for the next 2000 years and literally wiping the very name 'Judaea' from the maps. That makes sense.
Christianity, as has already been noted, was primarily a lower-class religion. The Roman upper class (especially in the West) in fact largely remained openly pagan for about a century after Constantine's conversion; you had rebellions & usurpations as late as those of Arbogast/Eugenius in 394 AD trying to turn back the clock & make Rome pagan again,
and the last pagan usurper was supported by the Goths (they made Priscus convert to Arian Christianity, their own heresy and not the Nicene/Chalcedonian Catholic-Orthodox faith of the Romans, but it's pretty obviously an insincere gesture made by him to retain their support since he was otherwise a lifelong pagan).
Many early Church Fathers despised the Jews, famously including figures like
St. John Chrysostom and
Cyril of Alexandria (probably one of several reasons as to why the 2009 movie about Hypatia, starring the Jewish Rachel Weisz in that role, demonizes him), and
Constantine himself shat on them too. Lest you make the mistake of assuming it was primarily Eastern Nicenes (future Orthodox) who exclusively hated Jews, Western saints & Church Fathers such as
Ambrose of Milan &
Augustine of Hippo bashed them pretty hard too. The Jews
kept fucking with & being fucked by the Romans right up until their near-fatal final war with the Sassanids, the result of which was that Emperor Heraclius went mini-Hadrian on them again right before losing the Levant to the Muslims BTW.
