But I found I was surprisingly emotionally impacted by his assassination even though if he'd died in a car accident I would have said "oh that's sad" and moved on.

Why? For one I saw the video of it initially from an angle where I'd hoped he could maybe survive, and then again knowing there was no real way.

But the largest part was simply that he was shot for having pretty basic, albeit well thought out and reasoned, takes that aren't that different than my own and certainly less 'extreme' than my own views.

Then I saw people cheering it on. Not just rabid left strangers, I saw people I knew personally saying "well nobody should be shot but he was kind of asking for it don't you think?"
People I thought were a bit stupid and ignorant, sure, but not malicious people. People I've known for a long time. It turned my stomach to realize no these people aren't just joking about hating conservatives they genuinely want them dead for having different opinions.

It was a realization that simultaneously shocked and disgusted me. I hadn't considered it (except for those on the far extreme fringes of the left who are worthless leeches and spastic anyway) because it's so alien to me. Sure hate illegals and want them deported, sure hate people who want the country to be turned into a communist shithole and want them out of power and shamed, but to cheer on a public assassination and laugh at and mock his remaining family and friends?

Again, this is the big point for me, it wasn't even like he was a Westboro Baptist church leader going to funerals and saying God hates fags. He had his viewpoints and he expressed them with sympathy and general kindness and genuinely listened to people as far as I could tell (I've watched a decent amount of his content since he was murdered). His views weren't that weird, his methods were peaceful, he wasnt doing anything destructive but according to many he deserved to die. This is also apparently an opinion of some people I know well. And if him, then why not me? Why not anyone with similar views? Anyone who isn't willing to felate illegals and let trannies get hold of taxpayer money for their mutilation and kids to permanently fuck up deserves to eat a bullet to a pretty sizeable chunk of every day leftists from teachers to social workers to coworkers to reporters to politicians. This is a normal opinion to have now.

So yes it affected me. It wasn't because Kirk was a celebrity, I barely knew of who he was, it was because of the reason he was killed and the reasons people justified it. It revealed an evil I would have dismissed otherwise.

Probably sounds melodramatic and this post is way too fucking long but it really soured me and made me want trump and Vance to ignore all these faggots and get shit done. The best revenge is making America great for those who still love it.

Twenty million annually is a lot (if that's even the real number) but Tucker has something way more valuable: a brand. Specifically his legal name, which you simply can't strip off of him. Having a name with staying power is extremely powerful, we know this because that's how the current president became a billionaire.

Plenty of boomers and Twitter users trust Tucker to report "the real news" to them and that sort of audience is a best case scenario. I would argue it's worth way more than 20 million dollars, which relies upon him remaining a talking head for corrupt news media ever-loyal to people like Hillary, Bush and Biden. We've seen what happens to journalists who remain loyal to them.
