These boycotts for a day (or weekend/multiple days) might work in the short term, but they fail in the end.
I recall similar "boycotts" when gas prices were US $4-5 per gallon. Sure, it might feel good to not get gas one day to score protest points and street cred. However, I bet most people who needed gas to keep from pushing their car somewhere refueled the very next day.
Similarly,I bet people will feel just as much of a dopamine hit virtue-signalling their intent to not buy anything from Bezos or other corporate overlords this weekend. However, these same people are materialistic enough they will scour the internet for whatever deals they can find on their gadgets of choice and still support some sort of big corporation once the protest/boycott period ends. The same thing has happened before, but these folks have such short attention spans they don't remember why these efforts consistently fail.
TL; DR - This is little more than the slacktivism stunt of the week.
