The Dem/soc base hasn't gotten a single fucking thing they actually want from their party (public option, student loan forgiveness being two perennial rug-pull examples) that would go against the donors' wants for

She's not. There's a concerted effort to smear her by well-funded 'media people' because she stridently opposes a certain slimy little Middle Eastern country that's bribed most of our country's politicians. What she said was, word for word:

MTG supports flat-out ending the H1-B program. She's supported mass deportations in the past. Yet I've seen headline after headline blowing this up as her 'opposing' deportations, which involves willfully mischaracterizing this statement to be contra all of her previously stated positions. What it's clear she meant to me is that deporting all these people will have dire ramifications. In construction, that workforce has atrophied due to reliance on illegals, and if we don't want to see huge disruptions, we need to be building training pipelines for American workers to replace them YESTERDAY. For agriculture, it will always rely to some degree on itinerant labor because demand for labor spikes around harvest and is much lower for the rest of the year. So you absolutely can have a year-round American workforce that does the more constant, low-intensity tasks of managing a farm, but when it comes time to harvest you
need a huge influx of labor to do it before the fruit is past its prime, or you need mechanization (which has issues for some crops). Back in the day this was traditionally done by all the women in the village chipping in for a few days/weeks, which doubled the workforce. Now most women have jobs that they rely on, so that model just won't work.
